Hello,

As the topic say , is the IP Tables protect from all attacks or i need to buy protected vps ?

You have to be able to maintain the iptables adding new chains and updating it. You need to log the attacks in order to know, what you need to add in iptables. But it may not be 100% sure that iptables going to protect you, so you need to talk with your ISP.

An iptable is a really basic form of protection (yet very powerful), but wont be able to handle a botnet or stresser alone. The goal is to keep your web server “responsive” to legitimate traffic, but to disregard excessive traffic (as in DOS/DDoS cases).
Its a part/add-on to your firewall. Basically you add rules, and one of them might be to throw the attackers package, problem is the attacker is sending so many packages that your CPU will go through the roof and server will crash anyway when the pressure gets too high. Instead look for hosters with more advanced technology and proper backbones to handle this type of problem.

If you want something that ACTUALLY protects you from DDoS either; Search online for cheap ddos game protection. They offer everything from 10 gbps to 500 gbps++ protection against both DoS and DDoS.
Or option two, get a firewall. Most firewalls whos designed to protect from ddos/dos migitates the attacks back to the sender.
Keep in mind that firewalls are way more expensiver than just buying a regular protection.
