This poll is created with quite a simple purpose. Even if you enjoy the server you're currently playing, do you feel PLAYER/LEVEL BASED power abuse is enough for you to quit the server?

Depends, on it.
Ex
if im a little Paladin and the Owner/Dev of the server don't like my voc and he only do insane shit for Sorcerer and i am been killed by them yes it is a great reason for me to leave.

Unless the vocs are balanced, there is no reason to quit playing for power abusers that's the fun part. get into a team and kill them back :P

:) Thanks for your input, and I've altered my first post to more fit the specific scenario I speak of. But it's good to hear the input, really appreciated.

It's pretty simple;

Power abuse is when someone with complete power takes over someone that is less superior.
Power abuse is indeed part of the game, but the problem comes when people abuse EXCESSIVELY.

EXCESSIVELY = victim pretty much unable to play
OCCASIONALLY = victim given chances to progress, but is still a victim

So, if power abusers were not complete dicks, they would let their preys survive and progress every once in awhile.
Otherwise, you're just killing them off the server until there are none left. When there are none left, power abusers have nothing to look for and they quit too.

It's the same idea for hunting and game in real life, you can hunt deers but you can't hunt them all,
otherwise they'll disappear and you won't have anything to hunt next time, which results into starvation.

Then my answer is simply not. that could actually (on the personal opinion) impulse to try to get over that son of a gun and kill him and i will not be happy until then.
but don't get me wrong i'm not an casual gamer :/, so in 90% on cases yes it is a reason for ppl to leave, so take an eye on that

As Evan said. It also depends how it's done. I don't mind if it's one or two guys attacking me because that I can survive but it gets frustrating when a gang comes and attacks, you just have no chance most of the times.

I has to agree with your statement and Evans, the only real time PA becomes a problem is when it's too harsh to the point where you can't even go out of a PZ without being attacked.

So how would you guys feel if a server implemented a rule (based off Evan's wording), that -occasional- power abusing is allowed, but excessive abuse would result in penalties?

I'd say sure? Idk depends on how the server is setup and with what features.

Didn't Cipsoft take action on excessive power abusing a couple of years ago? think it went under destructive behavior.

My statistics shows that 40% of people who power abuses does it because they were power abused

No, they went around banning anybody with any kind of bot and alot of the PA were using bots at the time. Destructive behaviour was one of the reasons they got banned though.

You sure? I remember something about Secura? or some other world being extremely power abused by some br guild who hunted all gringos and stuff.

That's Ocera (Secura is optional-PVP).
There were two guilds that were banned, in history, Brothers of Peace is one, don't remember the other.

How ironic, lol.

@Zisly
That's actually what I've done on my past servers, but it's very hard to get -all- the facts in a lot of PA situations. For instance, if the lower level -honestly- antagonized it in an attempt to get the higher level banned.

I haven't seen you in along time :o

I personally don't mind power abuse, at all actually, to me it's all part of the game & the fact that people have the freedom to do as they like without rules is what makes this game that bit more unique for me, when you take that away no matter how far someone goes, you destroy that part of the game.

Take power abusing by killing for example, it's normally a huge problem, especially on OTs because there tends to only be 1 big group at the start of every OT that tend to be assholes, but in my opinion if they worked to get there, why shouldn't they have that power that they obtained? That's what CIP destroyed in tibia for me. - These problems in my opinion should be routed out by the players, opposing teams can be stopped, i've seen it happen abunch of times, then those that win take power & do it all over again.

I personally think it's because we enjoy our power trips.

Usually not (unless the power being abused is gm powers or something a regular player can't achieve). It's part of Tibia. The strong exterminate the weak. Most people dislike the Ocera situation for example, but others find it to be something extremely interesting. In what other game it is possible for a group of players to rule the entire world? Things like this are what makes Tibia an unique and fun game to play.

Note: I accidentally voted Yes but I meant to vote No.
