First of all, don't use autoborder, that shit destroy real mapping skill :D

Good Luck in Mapping

I have to disagree with this. Autoborder can be a usefull tool for when you're starting. You can't expect someone who is just learning how to map to do everything by themselves in raw. Autoborder can be a powerful tool if you learn to use it right ;)

Disagree with you, real mapper who want do something special, epic, awesome, will never use autoborder.
Of course AB is useful for example : grounds and walls? That's all, for me, there is no reason to put ON autoborder when someone start with mapping :P

yeah, but again, if you're starting autoborder is a powerful learning tool. You can have lots of creativity, but if you don't have any knowledge on mapping, then you'll probably suck because you won't be able to deliver what you want. Of course if you want to do something cool, probably doing all by yourself would be the best option, but i wouldn't recommend someone who is just starting to do everything by raw, but well as evan said is all about creativity (and practice i would add)

I agree with Nicolos. I map a bit for fun and i turn on and off autoborder very often to get more what i want. but i do like " sketching " with autoborder

If you're new to mapping and have no real motive behind it id go ahead and dabble with a newer client version. As you can see in the examples posted by steamside the visuals are much more appealing and you have much more to work with. To be honest the map looks rushed take your time. Practice makes perfect.

Keep improving and you will eventually get somewhere :)
A thing that would bother me, as a player, is the fact that your map seems VERY crowded to me which urge me to use to walk diagonal every few sqms. I cant imagine this to be any fun kiting with a pally or smth. Sure, obstacles to kite around are nice, but not that much. Anyway, thats just my 2cents.
Kind regards,
Damon

We must learn to walk before we can run
