So i wasn't really doing much when suddenly the blue screen appears on my laptop (first time i've seen it), the laptop screen went black so i turned it off. When i turned it on again the laptop screen just stayed black, the fans were spinning and the power light was on aswell.

The screen has been black before when i turn the laptop on for the first time but after a quick reboot it returns to normal again.

Laptop: Esystem Sorrento
Processor: intel celeron c900
OS: vista
Ram: 2gb ddr2
Gfx card: intergrated

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Your problem is the computer I believe. What year is it? Whered you buy it from? Take it to a local computer shop to get an expert diagnosis.

What did the blue screen say? It's probably stored in some minidump at C:/Windows/minidump/..

Ahahahaha, I leave for a day and troubleshooting already failed, Anyways Shockah, does the screen light up even alittle bit or does it stay powered down?

Didn't have a chance to read the message of the blue screen, only seen it for about 2 seconds before the screen went black.

I tried that method of taking the battery out and holding the power button but it didn't work.

The screen doesn't light up whatsoever, just stays completely black. I read somewhere it could be loose ram or something but i can't open the case up, i have nothing i can use to get at the screws.

It is a fairly old laptop (about 4 years) but it was in good condition and doesn't get used often. Its only the past week or so i've been using it everday.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Ok, so the only thing I can think of is that it could be that one of the cables to the monitor are unplugged or came loose (mainly the inverter) and or your RAM, best bet to get the best answer, take it to a tech shop and ask them what would be wrong, they normally will tell you for free or see if they can find the problem for free (or a small charge).

Nah didn't spill anything on it. I'll take it to the tech shop today (hopefully its open), thanks for the help.

Took it to the shop yesturday where he plugged it into an external monitor but nothing appeared. He said he's almost certain that the motherboard is faulty. R.I.P laptop :D
