[Legal] How legal is it to receive money from OT's?

I have been curious. How legal is it for people to be creating an income off of owning OT servers? I imagine it is illegal because Tibia is copyrighted off of Cipsoft. Do we just not care and think they can't get us? Or our OT's considered public domain because they are open source?

I am very interested to hear your opinions and ideas.

With otclient ? Practically legal since cipsoft won't chase a copyright charge on sprites alone. With tfs and otclient you're pretty much clear.

Tfs is our own code (well the developers) so with our own open source client, there isn't an issue.

Using of forgottenserver is fully legal. Server is based on the license GPL and all information is available here http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.txt. On the same principle AAC works.

Cipsoft only own the sprites. Finally edubart and the rest of the team managed to make an individual client, and TFS is coded by the OTLand team, so it's fully legal.
