Making Equipment and Weapons in Item Editor

Ok, so, I have the OTItemEditor downloaded, and I can edit the items.otb, but I can't make equipment or weapons because there's no section for item stats in it anywhere. What do I do?

Edit the stats at items.xml with notepad ++?

(For weapons like rods, go to Weapons>weapons.xml)

Problem with my weapons.xml is that it's all jumbled together, and notepad isn't really too user friendly, so it's kinda hard to find things in there. Also, I don't have my item ids memorized for 9.6.
