Map 8.6 help

So in remeres i have spent almost 24hrs on a custom map i want for a 8.6 ot.... but i have been doing in in the remeres 9.6 ive looked up changing the server to a 9.6 to put the map in then changing back to a 8.6 but idk if this will work and i dont wanna break anything D: can anyonr help me out here?

You can do this with Map, Properties, Client Version.
It won't have any bad effect, only if you used sprites for higher clients then 8.6 they will disappear.
