Need Advice Please!

Hey Otlanders!

I Bought an WD External Hard Drive today and saved all my files from PC to the Hard Drive.. Time to reinstall New Operating system! Atm I have Windows Vista Home Basic!
So my question leads to..

Which Operating System you think I should install on my computer for hosting? I know linux is great but for now i need to know only Windows systems please!

Ubuntu is way simpler than it used to be... suggest you have two partitions, one for windows and one for linux, Then just use the windows partition when you wanna do gaming etc.
As for windows version... 7 ultimate 64bit (if you have more than 3.5gb of RAM and a processor that supports it, which 99% of processors in the 2000s do)

Well.. I will host at companys when my server is done. But my friend told me that Windows XP Professional is good for test-hosting, What do you think about that?

If you want go for windows and hosting, use Windows XP with service pack 3 or windows server.

I'd recommend Windows XP since it's more basic and is waay faster then windows vista/7. I used to have XP untill I bought a new computer, since then, I've never hosted.
