Hey everyone, I have been trying to get my server online for a few weeks now. I feel like I am close but am having some trouble with the final steps.

I have followed one of the popular tutorials on OtLand.
Let me explain what I have so far:
-TFS 1.1
-UniServer Zero XII
-Otland Ip Changer
-Tibia client 10.77
-Windows 8.1
-I have opened ports 7171 and 7172, Port 8080 is most likely open...

I am able to run the server and log into my map.
My brother, on the same wifi is able to log into the server, using the ip changer.
People are not able to log into the server from their own homes.

Note: Right now I am logging into my sever using 127.0.0.1, my brother is using the ip address that comes up on WhatsMyIp.com.

Any ideas? I am keen to getting this thing running tonight.

Thanks, I have just looked through the awesome post that you referred me to.
It appears to be a problem with port 8080. After following the steps laid out in the link, I am still unable to get it open. In the link, there was suggestions to go onto youtube and learn how to unblock ports through my windows 8.1 firewall. I have unblocked incoming and outgoing access to port 8080 in TCP and UDP but when I check it on HalfAway it is still closed.
7171 and 7172 are open btw.

I have heard of ISP's Blocking port 80, but I thought port 8080 was supposed to bypass that problem... Any ideas?
Also, thanks for all of your help Codex NG :)

I have opened my ports through my router.
http://www.************/portchecker.php tells me that ports 7171 and 7172 are OPEN and port 8080 is CLOSED.

Thanks Codex, That page has a bunch of information, I have discovered that ports 80 and 8080 are used to access the web, however, I lack the overall knowledge to put that site to good use.
My next step is to contact my ISP and see if they are blocking port 8080.
Thanks :)

I have:
Contacted my ISP and they said that they do not specifically block port 8080.
Checked that Ports 7171 and 7172 are open according to http://www.************/portchecker.php
I disabled my firewall and AVG virus scanner and tested http://www.************/portchecker.php to see if port 8080 had opened. No luck.

I have an account at My No-IP... Is this necessary? Is there a possibility that something is conflicting there, because, My router is opening ports on one IP (IPv4 IP address) and when I use http://www.************/portchecker.php I have to use the IP that I am getting through My No-IP (Whats my IP Address)....

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
Thanks all!

Thanks man, I have read through them and looked at My No-IP account.
I am only allowed to select one of the options that you put the emphasis on. The redirect doesn't seem to be working and the DNS Host is a paid feature.
I feel like the DNS Host is the solution I need so this is the end of the road for me.
I will try to completely undo all of the progress in the tutorial I followed to get here and try another tutorial or the same one again to make sure I didn't forget something.
Unless you have any more ideas.

Thanks a lot Codex NG, I truly appreciate your help.

"Make sure your server is RUNNING before you check your ports."

Did you change everything in apache to make your website work with the port 8080 instead of the port 80?
Well if you didn't, try going to httpd.conf and change wherever its 80 to 8080

are your friends trying to connect through your ip? http://whatsmyip.org or the no-ip?

A bit more information could be helpful. When your friends try to connect, what exactly happens?
Do they get a connection error? Do they get to the character list but can't connect?

Hi, Right now I am using http://www.************/portchecker.php to see if my ports are open. That tells me that ports 7171 and 7172 are open. Port 8080 is closed.
When someone that is not on my wifi attempts to connect the client will get stuck at Loading character list.

The server has been running when I check through http://www.************/portchecker.php.
As far as changing everything in apache to make the website work with port 8080... Where do I find said httpd.conf?

Port 8080 is most likely open...

you should open port 80 in your router. to allow people to vieuw your site. altough not having port 80 open will have nothing to do with them nog being able to log in to your ot.
have you set your ports to both tcp and udp.

in your config.lua have you set the ip adress you got form whatsmyip.org
have you made an execption in your firewall / antivirus program.

in general if you can log in using your global ip (that one from whatsmyip.org) others can too.
