Need to upgrade my computer!

Okay, so my computer is quite slow and I guess it's because of my low gHZ (1.81) I can't barely run any new games...
So to upgrade this, I need to buy a new processor? I can buy one for 150$, anyone got a site where I can find a good and cheap one?

where are u from?
and if u cant run any games, u need to buy a new video card too.
and its a chance that you have too get a whole new computer cuz if u just upgrade your processor it will not work 100% because of the bad components in the computer
 
I'm from sweden, I can play games but almost all new games requires like 2.4 ghz+ so I lagg veery much :E
 
well its not just the processor that makes the lagg i can tell u that.

Yea, but then tell me what more I should upgrade? I already bought a new graphic card and it made me able to play like hon with high quality without any laggs (I couldn't before) but I still can't play like assassins creed; brotherhooD

Yeah, if you have an old Sempron it's highly unlikely to find decent components that are compatible with your motherboard.
 
Got a similar problem. Just that when I play games like NFS: Shift, or black ops aswell, it starts delaying alot. Sometimes setting resolution to 800x600 and lowest quality from 1920x1080 works, but not always.. Also what bothers me is that this computer gets pretty slow at times. Could be cause of 10% free space left on my hdd though. But my main problem is playing HQ games aswell. I'm planning on buying 2 more GB ram and 1 TB HDD - these are my prior targets atm.

Well , I prefer that you change every little thing in your computer , if you buy a new nice graphic card , the prossecor cant handle the heavy graphic , RAM is a minium of 3GB , I prefer Intel ove AMD , even thou it is more expensive , i think laying 100$ on a Intel prossecor is worth it , If you buy Intel i5 or newer you get Turbo , when your prossecor gets 100% the turbo reduces it , Power supply is needed if you are going to buy heavy components!

I have build my computer with the speccs of

ATI Radeon HD5850
Intel i5
3x 2GB DDR3 RAM
A nice power supply and i used my previous harddrive
well i bought mothercard with build in audio card ,

I bought it from Dustin home - Hemelektronik på Internet - 222

It cost me round 900$ which is really nice ,
