But for servers I prefer .net domain, it looks more elegant.

generally, unless you're profiting off the server, it'd be better suited as a .net anyway.

People are forgetting about stuff, though... what about .info and .org?
.info obviously denotes that it's an informational site and .org obviously donates that it's an organization's (lack of .com may also imply non-profit) site.
.biz exists essentially for cases where .com is already taken...
There's also .gov, .mil, and .edu (government, military, education; respectively) but I doubt those are available to normal sites.

am I forgetting any myself (except the nationality ones, .us .uk .de etc)?
