New ots crashing

Okay so, I just installed an ot.
Whenever I or my friends try to log in, hit enter on character list, client crashes, but, our character logs in, at least it says so on website. A friend reinstalled DB, and now after typing passwords it crashes BEFORE character list. I even created a fast small map without any monsters or building just a spawn point, but it crashes before character list, what can be wrong?

You are more likely to get help if you actually specify everything, which ot, which website, which database, steps you did and all, people here have no crystal ball.

Unknown packet bug usually happens when you use server that is not compatible with ur client version.
My guess is that you are using server and you have changed definitions.h to other version than your server is compatible with.

Yes my friend has changed it from 10.98 to 10.90 BECAUSE he has read somewhere that he could do it.

Yes my friend has changed it from 10.98 to 10.90 BECAUSE he has read somewhere that he could do it.

In 10.98 there are additional bytes that does not exist in 10.90, thats why your client is crashing. You have to remove newer packets.
