Do you put npc file into mods? Why?

My grizzly adams lets you pick a task between 1-X and I picked 4, which is cyclops. But after I killed some and came back to "report cyclops" I got this - Grizzly adam would say "You have so far killed -1 cyclops out of 500!"

And get this console error
