Open Tibia - The new beginning is NOW!

Greets fellow Tibians!

Aint that one thing we have in comon whatever happens? Tibia in one way or another.
Open Tibia has been developed for years, and except for a few cases, where do we stand?

Sadly:
*High Exp Real Map Servers.
*Kinda Closed and Selfish Community.

Is it even a question why the kids get more and more bored of open tibia servers?

Lately However... I started to see the light, a new beginning, the real purpose of open tibia!

TFS developers finally understood that we need one server to unite us all, one server that the majority will base their servers on and share scripts as well as ideas to bring out the best of everything and everyone. I truly believe that TFS 1.0 will be the right step towards a better Open Tibia community, and of ofcourse, servers.

When I glance through the Discussion section, I see something remarkable, Alot of customly made servers and ideas are popping up, one project after another. That is a sign of a new beginning for me with hope that we'll show those kids and players what Open Tibia is all about!

If you have any complete scripts, maps or servers thats just collecting dust, please post them!
Half made maps or other usefull things ? Post! We need to release things in general and help eachother.

One fact is also that people may be away from tibia for years, but the right server or update may always bring you right back into it. Why? Because Tibia is unique buy sadly took some wrong turns.

I will do my part, will you?

Although I wish to share your optimism, I also see some concerning matters...
First of all, i agree with you that more and more custom servers are popping up on the discussion thread and that's a good sign, but for me the community is declining to rapidly... a lot of old faces who were very active back in the day are just gone and more and more are disappearing :s

for example: the mapping showoff is just a glimpse of what it once was and this makes me really sad :/

But i hope you are right and with the new tfs 1.0 new developers of custom servers will stand up, because all the old ones are getting older. I see it in my own life aswell, where a couple of years ago i had a lot of time to spare, i know find myself only having time to check otland once in a while.

But to every custom developer out there: Keep doing what you are doing!

Mark will hopefully send a mass mail to all registered otland people once TFS 1.0 is done.

Could bring some information about tfs 1.0 as well as some hope to bring back people and make then upgrade all scripts to the latest TFS.

If we lose hope, we got nothing left.
