OpenTibia OT map generator

I've been thinking about coming back to the project for a while.
Already made some first moves, fired up the IDE and started playing around again.

But I'm curious, what features would you guys actually like to see the most? Any ideas?

Right now I've started experimenting with generating entire islands / continents - landmasses, beaches, mountains.
I have some early base version, but Im still not satisfied enough with the results to show any teasers yet.

I'm trying to approach it region-based from the start, so in the next step it would allow things like generating caves inside previously generated mountain ranges.

My first attempts with Perlin noise dont really satisfy me as a mapper, so I've got something to grind on ;p
The goal is to achieve land shapes that look almost like they were mapped by a human.

If you would prefer something different, feel free to share ideas

Haven’t tried it and have no feedback but looks really good! Might try it out for my project, ty for sharing this!!

Hello guys,

what do you think, should I release it? I dont see here much enthusiasm : (
Yes! I think it's really useful, i'll try it for sure!

Thanks for your appreciation, but still we have here tens of new posts per day and to be honest I counted on some bigger feedback, more advices, some discussion regarding what features would like you to have next :/
I would like to encourage people for some activity

Maybe a cause of it is that it's a tool, which demands some basic lua knowledge - not ready to use, whole dungeon generation system.

I will reconsider releasing new versions, will see where it will go. For my personal use, for sure I will continue a development for some time.

First run for the jungle, new biome (sand cave gen script used, after minor changes):

I think that for example would be cool if you could add some "addons" to the different biomas. For example, in outside biomas there could be "Campaments" with humanoid traits like firecamp, some tools, boxes, camp beds, etc. Or different animal/monsters nests, or different kinds of outdoor altars/statues, a small port with a canoe or small boat next to the sea, a single house. Things that make the map alive and move on from the floor/wall generator. Like the tombs u did that had already statues and other characterization stuff but instead of being a "general trait" for the whole map, its like small epicenters of human/animal activity. A windmill, a workshop, Basecamp, a bandit fortress, a temple. There could be different things for different biomas: In caves, some areas with train rails and wagons, some rooms with brick walls and furniture, etc. Outdoor/Mountains could have human camps, bandit camps, altars, ports/boats, temples, animal nests, etc.

That would be really cool and help a lot in customization when creating a map. For example, to be able to configure: 30% Grass/bushes, 30% forest, 40% mountains (3 levels). Total rivers: 3. In Grass area: 2 small traveler camp, 1 temple, 4 animal nests. In forest, 1 small bandit camp, 2 large bandit camp, 2 animal nest. In Mountain: 2 Cave entrance, 1 Tower, 2 human camp, 1 workchop house.

Also if it could create labrynths with different level of difficulty from 1 to 10 :D
