[OtServ] Client Version error

I have the otserv9.1 server running and ports are forwarded and everything is golden EXCEPT. When i go to log in i get the error "This server requires client version 8.7". I am using the 8.70 client i installed and still get the error. I have tried logging in through a 9.1 client and still have the same error. Any suggestions towards my problem would be greatly appreciated.
