PC - Is it worth it?

I have a laptop already, it has integrated graphics though which most games do not support, the best game I can play at the moment is League of Legends. I can't play any 3d game. I tried DayZ and ended up getting blue screen. xd

I'm just looking to make a PC that will run almost every game on medium to high settings like Scarlet said. I'm not a rapid gamer, just want to be able to play any game and stream at the same time (I know stream depends on internet which I will also upgrade currently 0.8mbps.)

Cheers for the feedback.

Main games;
Smite
LoL
DayZ
WarZ

& Some others probably.

Those are the ones I really wish to play :)

Yeah then stick to along the lines of what I posted, duo-core? Nah bro if minimum go for an i5.

depends on the gaming, if you just want normal/high graphics, then a laptop is good enough, but if ur going hardcore(ultra-high graphics in every game for the next year or 2) then I seriously advise against a laptop, a desktop is better for hardcore gaming, it all depends on what kind of gaming u want to do(I play DA:O, Oblivion, Skyrim, and a couple more on normal/high fine with my average laptop)

From my perspective, it doesn't depend on the gaming, as much as it depends on what you're willing to pay. The Alienware M18x R2, has GTX 680m in SLI (dual GPU's), which can handle any game with outstanding performance, but it's roughly $5,000. I've always paid a little extra for the mobility, as I am a student - I may be home for one year and on the other side of the country the next - it's just more convenient. But you can't say a laptop isn't "good enough" for a hardcore gamer. A desktop for the same price will perform slightly better than this laptop I describe, but not enough to justify laptops as worthless for pro-gaming. It's an argument that can go on forever, both have their advantages and disadvantages. But I understand why someone would want a Desktop rather than a Laptop. Long-term, it is more upgradable and more durable.

Either way, good luck finding a system that meets your needs, Tyren. Just remember one thing: "You get what you pay for." Don't go "too" cheap, you may end up regretting it.

Well my current situation with cash is pretty bad. But I'm starting to work next week again, so I'm looking for something I can pay off in lump sums.
Something like 100 euro per week to pay or something, thats why I went with PC specialist as they have the option to do this.

Of course, it would be paid quicker than the 12 month period (then interest is charged).
I'm currently saving for driving lessons and moving out, therefore saving wouldn't be an option as it would take too long.

I'd be streaming as a "side job" to earn a little cash to help me move out, though a high percentage of the income would go to giveaways etc. So it'll only be a really small income.

Anyway, thats why I want something that isnt too expensive, though does the job and that I can pay off (until I have the full amount).

When it comes to built desktops, you never get what you pay for.

There are desktops which costs upto 1,500$ and they never run any good games.

I paid overall £500 for my laptop and I regret it big time. It's decent and does everything I need except play games. That's why I'm looking for a decent desktop :)

You'll regret it more when you buy a built desktop, same as I did 2 years ago.

PCSpecialist allows you to build your own, thats what I'm saying :p

alright, Let me give some benchmarks for laptops:
Always choose nvidia mobile graphics cards, the radeon line brings alot of errors, even with the newest driver.
I've noticed that the same benchmark score on a nvidia GT 540M and a Radeon of same class(Can't remember the model name) where having quite servere diffrences in fps in 5 diffrent games (from low requirements to crysis...)
They all resulted in a 30-40% diffrence in fps as well as image quality.
IF you want to buy a good gaming laptop choose nvidia gt 5XXM with XX is more than 60, Also if possible the GT 6XXM series are far much better preforming than the old.
A 650 +M card is quite sufficent and can play most games with decent FPS (unless we are talking Metro 2033 at max ofc)

The cpu doesn't matter, Just check at CPUBenchmark.net and search the cpumodel and you will see, but beaware that high numbers are counted depending on the amount of core you have. do a Number/cores/threads and you will get a more appropriate value, Score/Core which is the thing that matter most with gaming.

I won't be buying a laptop, I already have one.

So lets get down to what the topic was created for.

The first post, main post, topic post, first post.

Will this PC run games such as DayZ, SMITE, LoL, Guild Wars 2 etc AND be able to stream and the same time with NO problems and all in medium - high graphics?

This is what I want to know. Not where to find cheaper or laptops are better etc.

Ty.

Use the custom pc I build and then take it to a computer store to get it built, should only take about 2hrs...

I stated in this thread somewhere that I need one I can pay monthly for, I wish to only pay in two installments which is no problem for me. I don't have the cash to just buy it out right at the moment and I don't wish to wait 2 months :p

These are parts, you pay small amounts till you get them all together. Shouldn't be too long or hard. :D
