Old school servers is dying there is nothing to do about it at the moment.. Reason for this is mainly that majority of the people with the knowledge to create a decent server is very young. Maybe in a few years the boys capable of hosting a decent old school server is mature enough to give us a long term server to replace our old game.

Tibianic is great sure but I'm looking for a medium rate on the experience etc.. Else I would play there.

I'm not going to lie, this guy is actually correct in his statement. I had constantly passed over Oldera because it looked like a shoddy server but I went on there after seeing this thread. Any publicity is good publicity I'm afraid to say. Especially when you open up your rant to supporters who will validate your opinion but say that it is "still a good server". I still am not impressed with the server/management personally, but I'm not impressed with nearly any of the server out there currently.

That and if people are stupid enough to support someone who openly admits he has a shady past and has a record for closing his server often then that is their own stupidity. I think part of the problem is that people are too item-hungry for their own good and are willing to donate for any power (regardless if/when the server will reset).

Well both of you and especially Schmanky are saying this based on absolutely nothing. "This thread is only contributing to his OT" is just a ridiculous statement to make with absolutely no proof behind it, especially considering the response that I had received from many. Besides, what would those "new players" have done? Played for the next 4 days the server was up after I posted this? All that does is support everything I've said in this thread. The server is offline and dead and he's apparently "never making an OT again". But I guess I'm "Naieve and don't know what I'm talking about". I'm not one to toot my own horn but Schmanky, suck a fat dick.

the server is offline & dead because that's what high-rates do, very rarely do they last long. it seems like you're implying that this thread had anything to do with the server shutting down, while in reality it only contributed to its success while it was online. but I mean if you want to keep imagining you discouraged him from ever opening another OT then be my guest

Nor am I claiming that it was a prediction, it was an educated guess based on deductive reasoning. This server has a repetitive trend of only being online for extra short periods of time because its online for the sole purpose of donations. Most HR servers are short-lasted, true. But not as short-lasted as these servers. This server didn't shut down because of natural community disinterest or server domination, it shut down because it was bugged and corrupt. Which is one of the many reasons why I was telling people not to play it.

god you're so weird, try to get so deep into the most simple subjects. what you call an 'educated guess based on deductive reasoning' i call common sense. this entire thread is common sense, the point is that no one cares.

ryan's server was outdated, far from bug free. Bugs caused crashes/downtime -> loss of players -> shutdown. the thing you don't realize is that after you lose the players, there is no point in fixing the bugs (unless you reset, only way to regain players, but even then as a hoster it's kind of a big cba) Oldera was no worse than any other HR, even one of Fribben's highrate only lasted little over a week, only difference is Fribben resets it and Ryan calls it quits. when I hosted Pandera it was only popular for a week and a half, after that it was a ghost town which I only kept online because I had the dedi for a few more weeks.

ryan's servers themselves are not a problem. they are typical. the fact that ryan hosted it is arbitrary

you ask what my tactic is? nothing, no problem to be fixed, past is the past m8, we don't share a common goal. don't like the fact that a douchebag can host a server and get players? ddos him. this Oldera was just harmless, temporary fun that hurt no1 in the process =)

so much brain wasted writing to write this bs, tbh it's to long to read. Anyways, like I said I call it a quit, I'm not dependent on OT money. Many players asked me personally (2 months ago) if I could bring Oldera back that's why I decided to host another version of Oldera. I already quit last year, it's to time consuming.

people like Nymphis I probably ddosed at some point or w.e. so hes still butthurt and doesn't want to face the truth ever. don't get psycho cu guys :- )
