well before we start suggesting to play poker to others here, lets get few things straight.
What is the reason you want to play poker for?
Fun or money.
If its Fun then, just do what you want.
If its money. Then do few days worth of researching about games, and start from the bottom. (0,01$ bets)
You need quite high bankroll to do heads-up or tournement formats, because they have some huge ass downswings.
Use pokertracker or similar program what records your situations and go over ALL the hands where you lost more money than blind size.
Sadly i have no recording left of my progress, but i ended up in NL5 where my average profit per hour was 2$
I started out because friend made me poker account and placed 10$ there and told me to read "micro something book" and play the way I understood the book.
So i did that and played it was quite fun at start.
First day I lost 5$.
Did my research.
Second day I Won nor lost nothing.
But i got some kind of 10$ bonus from pokerstar.
3rd day I made my first 1$ profit.
And 2 months later i quitted poker becaue it was getting too grindy and uninteresting.
I pulled out 270$ in cash.
But I did not play this game for fun anymore I just wanted to see my profit margin to climb. This was quite exhausting to be honest.
16-22 tables at once for 2-6 hours in row was quite demanding mentally.
But I know for fact if I kept continueing and reach to NL10 my profit per hour would have doubled. Because this is how poker works. Grind and learn.
