I have noticed that a lot of big OT's get big only because they have many players..when syntax made a thread regarding banning rl maps from being downloaded I completely disagreed at first now im starting to realize where hes coming from..I see guys that can barely port forward yet have 200+ players on a completely default map...am I whining about it not really just think its hilarious how fail some people truly are.

I guess im giving props to all the people that can host and actually know what their doing.

What can you do as a player to know if your joining a server hosted by a 13 year old that can barely tie his shoes?

1. Lag much? if so thats the first sign..hes hosting on his moms laptop.

2. Did he make a website with nothing fixed but the donations while hosting a brand new server?

99% of the time someone will release a default server right off these forums then work on it...no one starts a brand new ot as a beginner with a dedicated server. (If only the distros released here werent idiot proof, there would be only excellent OT's) Thats why no one should need a donor system before releasing some decent quests, fixing bugs, etc.
That means hes more focused on getting some cash quick rather than focusing on making a great OT.
(Donate for GM? LOL thats a red flag.)

3. Claiming they have all these special discounts on their donates...LOL, what is there to say..the prices will be average still trust me.


I have been scammed out of over 100$ (NAROZIA SUX) just trying to give some people a heads up.

So before u go donating around know what kind of OT your going to get first!!


No, im not advertising my ot (collapser was pwn, kiwi was pwn (if they still have that custom map), deception was pwn, lot of nice servers out there. But waaaay too many terrible ones.
btw the list is more/less a joke lol.

That's so fucking true! It's just hillarious that downloaded shit from this forum is more popular than thing that I have been working for almost a year! Could someone do something about it?!
 
I'm kinda annoyed with all those kids download latest tfs server and just open it up and add it to ot list...

all those stupid non functional servers spamm the list that much you'll have to look for hours, days, weeks and even months to find a good server that are worth to play...


I hope they'll do something about it..

make something that makes people have to work hard to be able to be added in a OT-list...


same thing on Advisements section...

shouldn't be able to add a server unless a mod has tested it (not just loggin, but lvled and tried some quest)
 
It is as you stated. We can't do much either with baning Ot's which use real tibia map because they'll download released distros. The things as they are..

Wondering why most of people likes 9846459849 exp servers. Play it once its ok, but it has been always.

i hate those guys that only download shit and open a server

but as mush as i hate all those things.. we need to understand that ppl don't like custom servers anymore..

Chris and I have been working on a real map server actually. But I can say its not freaking easy lol. But i still stand by banning real map related things on forums. Making around 300 npcs by scratch, making every action for chests, switches, tiles, doors, etc. Checking the map over and over for bugs, adding all houses, Editing all monster loot, monsters, items, weapons. Now that deserves players. Not advertising though. <ahem look at sig> :D

i really agree , it's just a 1 time ots but that's very strange that people even if they have spare time to play low exp they make the high exp their favourite and those are the most servers that feel success.

haha your kidding right, have u tryed playing it? maybe i banned you for cave botting idk..but the server has about 500 hours of scripting/bug fixes, and mapping custom quests added on to a RL map. lmfao wheres your ot? Or you just go around talking shit on otland?

I have no donors on website and the server will never lag..get lost lmao
