Hello, anyone here know something about CD Rom?


My CD Rom works sometimes........ not often I dont know why, i want to formate my computer and can't do that because of it dont works....

If I go on "My computer" it dont shows any "Disc" for cd rom... :O


Please comment down here..
 
It doesn't show up here at all, or it doesn't recognize the disc after you insert it?

I had a Plextor DVD burner that was slowly biting the dust. DVDs would play then suddenly not be recognized. Some discs wouldn't register at all. Sometimes something as trivial as fogging the surface of a disc with hot breath would actually make a difference. My god those were frustrating days... There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of hype in optical writers field anymore. It's gone the way of the 'three sheep' burner. Ah well.
 
Check your device manager.

Does it show there at all?

If it does, and if there's an error; post it here.

If it doesn't show, then it might be dead, there's something wrong with cables, or something wrong in BIOS.
 
Is it listed when you're computer POSTs and shows onboard controller's status?
