Hello, i would like to take my ram up to about 1 GB, i handle actually 512MB.
what i need to know before i buy something?

Sure. But since we do not know your other specs such as motherboard, processor etc we can't give you a good advice. Tell us some more about your computer :)
 
well, actually i bought a sdram that hold 512mb i have 3 slots so with my 2 254mb plus my new 512 i get 1gb :P
 
Actually you need a new computer, buying SDRAM is a waste of money - it's slow, a bottleneck and more expensive than conventional RAM because it's no longer in production.
