Wow. You gotta read this, this is getting ridicilous how strong ddos is getting.

"A world record was broken not long ago with a DDoS attack that peeked at 409GB/ps. With DNS amplification attacks, and Monlist attacks becoming more common many corporations are being forced to up their network redundancy even Cloud Flare it`s self has been large adding more filter servers over the past month.

There are well over 28m+ OpenDNS severs, and 25% of the Internets networks still have the ability to spoof IP address. Its not like you need some mastermind or a huge botnet to do something like this.

This world record attack was done with very few Open DNS servers and if I recall only 3 networks. There are very few networks out there that can handle that kind of load, and none are able to handle the traffic that could be generated if someone was to use more resources.

This has been a well known issue for sometime now, but as always people ignore the warnings.

If you run a DNS server you can check it here and see if you`re exploitable.

What are your guys thoughts about this? How long will it go on? Will it ever be fixed? How long will this record hold?

The fuck you expected?
People don't ignore those warnings, they can't do anything with it.
Cloudflare is doing its best to minimize effects of those attacks.
There is no way to stop ddos, unless all ISPs worked together to cut ddosers off, when high network activity is detected.
