Hi everyone,

I’m planning to start a new low–mid level Rookgaard server with real vocations. The idea is to redesign the gameplay by replacing the current monsters with stronger ones and updating/improving the existing map.

To make this happen, I’m currently looking for a few people to collaborate with:

  • Mapper – to help redesign and expand the map
  • Scripter – mainly for Lua work and gameplay systems
  • Web developer – to set up the website and related systems
I do have programming experience, but my Lua knowledge is fairly limited, so I’ll be helping where I can across the project. However, most of the specialized work will be done by the people joining the team.

what client , engine , special game mods , etc..
 
The idea is to create a custom Rookgaard server with real vocations, focused on low–mid level gameplay and more challenging mechanics.

At the moment, I’m planning to use:

  • Client: 8.0
  • Engine: TFS 1.x (open to suggestions depending on what fits best)
Some of the core features I want:

  • Custom monsters replacing existing Rookgaard spawns (e.g. stronger creatures in sewers, caves, etc.)
  • Dungeons instead of traditional quests, where players face bosses
  • Boss mechanics that require positioning and strategy (similar to Dark Souls / Elden Ring style fights)
  • Task system for rewards and progression
  • Training areas for players
  • Custom item system with elemental protections (fire, poison, holy, etc.)
  • Upgrade system where bosses drop crystals used to improve items
The goal is to make Rookgaard more challenging, strategic, and replayable, rather than just a beginner area.

Everything is still flexible, especially the client/version, since I want to build this together with the team.
 
If 8.0 OTserv is good for this modifications you can Try to build that kind of OT..
 
yeah, I understand. 8.0 is just my initial idea, but I’m open to changing it if needed.

From your experience, do you think a newer version would be better for this kind of project, or is 8.0 enough to achieve what I’m aiming for?
 
8.0 / 8.1 is without new NPC Talktion system , this is problem , and some parts of Movments or global is outdated..
 
Yeah, I see what you mean.

My idea is to use a modern TFS engine to run the server, but still keep the classic 8.0 feel by using old 8.0 data files — map.otbm, vocation.xml, items.xml, and spells.xml.
In short: data stays classic, engine is modern to support the mechanics we need.
 
I have a big idea for Tibia Client Edition , but i don't know any C# or C++ coding lang..
