Is there a way to make the relational houses storage to binary?

I believe it's just a matter of backing up the database, then loading the server changing config.lua to binary when the servers online (I suggest binary-tilebased) then reloading config inside the game, then saving the server. Apparently it's possible for items to get deleted or something during the process, I don't know for sure though.
