[Request] Linux Step by Step How to?

Could anyone post a Linux tutorial?
this means there will ne stands how to conect to the linux root
how to extract rar archives how to run a gameserver (opentibia server) and how to install webpage (xamp or whatever ;p)
i know i conect with remotedesktop in Win 2003 Server
but what i need to connect to the linux rootserver??
is linux GUI Like Win2003? and can i use only Commands or whaT?

1 use putty if you use windows to connect via ssh
2 extract rar archives with unrar (debian: apt-get install unrar)
3 how to install open tibia server (use the search function for a tutorial)

Linux can both be with and without gui, that's your choice. If you buy a dedicated it'll be cli only.
