Requirements for a server, need help

I'm about to release a server with a little map, think about Rookgaard like, with a player limit of 200-250 players.

I need help about the requirements needed to host it on a dedicated or vps server.

Pro X5 has Operating system, you can choose between Debian, Ubuntu or Centos...

BTW my question is: How many RAM is needed for a small (Rookgaard like) map? and, Is a 2 cores VPS server capable of running it with 100-250 players online?

Well, if you go to the descrption page of the vserver: http://www.server4you.com/vserver/vserver-vergleich.php?server=PRO
and you look inside the software tab: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu
It says you can install one of these in a few clicks.

IF you are able to run your server as linux do so I just know how it works with windows /compile etc.
