Solved RME/OTAcademy map editor multi-selection

Hello, trying to multi selecting more than one - read somewhere on the forum that you can hold shift + left click to select multiple squares and then copy/paste, can't get it to select anything when marking squares with shift then left click. What am I missing?

.....make sure you're not trying to place objects/walls/grounds or similar(just right click somewhere then try selecting)
