Is there any way to edit the palettes on RME without editing the source? Like, can you do it with an xml file or something?

I think he means that he needs to change items in palettes. Keep in mind I'm using RME 2.2. I recommend to use Notepad++ for xml scripting, as this is entirely based on it. In Notepad++ you will hit control+f then go to the 'Find in Files' tab. Once in there find the item id or name you want to edit and set the directory to RME/Data/7.4. Once you find your item you double click it then are able to edit. You can keep doing this function until you get the hang of finding what you're looking for in those files then you can just use the regular find function. Sorry if I'm not clear enough but this is what I do when I'm editing palettes and the like.
