Server off

Hello i make my own server on VPS Debian and i start server in putty with use command server run all looks fine i log in and i exit putty on my pc and server down ;( why ?

i make all from here : Poradnik Instalacja - MySql, Apache, Kompilacja Silnika Tfs pod linux

And the answer is, use Screen command

screen ./theforgottenserver
CRTL + A + D
Close Putty

To see the window again write:
screen -r
