Good afternoon everybody!

My friend Niraj and I are doing a skydive for charity in June 2014. We hope to change the lives of many children around the world. The donations will go to a new respire unit at Great Ormand's street hospital. Any donations will be given straight to the charity.

Here is a link redirection: http://www.justgiving.com/Niraj-and-Mohamed-skydive

Donations will be very much appreciated!

Thank you very much!

Well I wish I could donate but I have no cash atm, maybe I'll donate in some months-weeks. Good luck.

i like the initiative but y what peroxide said, not sure it will get any attention because its just something that common.
also the site redirects the money directly to the charity? if so i'll might donate later.

I hope you raise some money :)

Kind regards,
Hehemidu

People go skydiving everyday, how will this change lives?

People go running and walking everyday, but literally thousands (millions globally) are generated by marathons and walks for various causes.

Just like marathons, skydiving will do nothing in itself to change lives, but it does generate attention and interest so people are willing to donate.

Recording the event would be nice so others could see it, but, for a larger scale event, it would probably be better to have a 'donation fee' for people to participate in the jump as well, after signing liability waivers, to help generate money.

It is sad, but true, that not many people will donate their money to a cause directly, so people have had to invent ways to generate interest, and get donations through events that have no direct correlation.

Case in point, I've taken part in 'charity' strongman events, that all the proceeds went to muscle dystrophy causes.. but let me ask you.. what does me lifting stones on to a platform, or pressing a log overhead have to do with the research for muscle dystrophy? A big fat nothing.
