Thanks for bringing a bit clarity, I been here a while, wish otland made its own server list. Kinda hard to play servers advertised there knowing our ips and data ends in hands of money hungry Xinn who could share it further or sell it or use it for marketing purposes. Nasty guyotservlist is a coin machine you insert coin you get any response.
but on soe people run riftbot so its bot ots anyways it does not need otservlist to be honest.
like cadabra etc while otservlist stands for its "free from fake mc" it does not prevent multiple machine hosts etc and is only aggresive against normal hosters who want to host servers people play on.
it became nearly a tool for xinn to extort money from community at this point that it turned into a local joke on forum boards and discords for years anyways.
nah, there are limits to what he do to "protect" players and extract more money from server admins, this is why most big servers left this website long ago. check this thread from 2 years ago, nothing changed since thensince few days when you click on server you can see this:

e.g here out of 1050 online characters 293 are with unique ip xinn probably wants to finally step in and make servers show their real players online aint surprised servers are not happy with it
but yeah these servers wants to "protect" their playerbase xDDDDDD if they wanted to protect it they wouldnt put their server on otserverlist in first place but now since it would hurt their interest and show a bit more realistic player count (still probably not perfect unique players amount as ppl use vpns etc) some servers decide to
It's not anything new, xinn has demanded that type of data since many years (mostly from servers that didn't buy any paid services) and when one refused and decided to remove themselves from otservlist instead, he would often go to the public forum to defame that server. @Iryont could probably tell you a word about that. And as you very well know, at the same time xinn kept on the list servers that were many times proven to had been putting fake characters in game (mostly those that bought paid services).but yeah these servers wants to "protect" their playerbase xDDDDDD if they wanted to protect it they wouldnt put their server on otserverlist in first place but now since it would hurt their interest and show a bit more realistic player count (still probably not perfect unique players amount as ppl use vpns etc) some servers decide to
Fun fact: it had 10x more upvotes than the second most upvoted suggestion. Another fun fact: I was banned for my activity in that thread.nah, there are limits to what he do to "protect" players and extract more money from server admins, this is why most big servers left this website long ago. check this thread from 2 years ago, nothing changed since then
Suggestion Thread 'Remove otservlist subforum'
As in the title, I'm suggesting to remove that subforum.
It doesn't seem like there is any interest anyway, only about 10 posts were sent this year.
Not even xinn seems to care at all, as he's not answering there (and lately not even visiting otland at all).
Besides, I don't see a reason why this particular service is promoted (especially when it appears in otland board which may mislead people to think otland and otservlist are one, despite the red warnings inside).
Maybe that's one of the reasons why we don't see any proper initiatives in that matter - because it looks like...
Just use server gala board: Server Gala (https://otland.net/forums/server-gala.43/)Thanks for bringing a bit clarity, I been here a while, wish otland made its own server list.
Don Danielo Is polish and im 100% xin is, they both ganged on you , And i assume you weren't the only one who made xins hemorrhoid inflamed and don Danielo had pain soothing capabilities. AHAHAHAHIt's not anything new, xinn has demanded that type of data since many years (mostly from servers that didn't buy any paid services) and when one refused and decided to remove themselves from otservlist instead, he would often go to the public forum to defame that server. @Iryont could probably tell you a word about that. At some point, the otservlist's buisness model was literally based on pushing server owners to compete in (usually fake) online numbers and then charging them for that (you had to pay to even be on the list if you exceeded a certain number of "players" online). He was partly responsible for the spoof-fiesta and never seemed to care that it was misleading for the actual players and otserlist's users. So, after all those years, otservlist has zero credibility in that matter. Besides, its advertising value is also close to zero nowadays. We're not in 2006 anymore, and there is no reason to even be on the list today.
Even that new feature you've posted here is totally misleading. It says "unique players" and "number of multi-clients", but how can he even tell that? You can say it's "unique IPs" and "repeated IPs" at best, that would be correct. But a shared IP address does not imply the use of a multi-client, nor does using different IP addresses imply no use of a multi-client. Seeing such basic mistakes one has to question whether it's done purposely or he's just clueless in that topic overall.
Fun fact: it had 10x more upvotes than the second most upvoted suggestion. Another fun fact: I was banned for my activity in that thread.
Xinn first called me "Goebbels" there, implying that I was making propaganda. So I replied to every point he made and proved that he was the one making propaganda, and then I ironically called him back "mr. Goebbels" ... and I got banned by Don Daniello for that. While xinn didn't even receive any warning points originally. Don Daniello also ignored all my private messages where I politely asked what exactly I was banned for. It was only Kaspar who said in that thread that I was banned for "calling xinn nazi" (sic!).
After that, the otland staff closed the topic and added xinn's answers to my first post, as if they were decisive (the same answers that were already proven wrong). Finally, they decided that instead of doing something with that board, like the vast most of the active otland community asked, it was better to just give a mod position to xinn's employee - who, since then, made 30 posts in 2 years and a half (great change).
Just use server gala board: Server Gala (https://otland.net/forums/server-gala.43/)
It generally gives a much closer-to-a-fact picture of a server. There's always some trolls, but they are usually taken care of, from what I can tell. Having such a thread is many times better than being on otservlist. Though, sadly otland seems to become less and less activate lately.
Anyway, as I said above, there is no reason to use otservlist in 2024. It made sense back in 2006 when servers where hosted on private computers, they had no website, you connected to them via IP changers, and their IP would change very often or they would simply go down forcing you to look for another one. But OT servers are not anything like that anymore, and for today's standards it's obsolete and useless.
Ah, yes, Kaldrox—the most spoofed OTS I have encountered. Otland should consider creating its own list that is free from monopolization and undue influence. Xin's presence in the Open Tibia community is analogous to a pervasive issue that should not continue to spread. Allowing him to manipulate administrators who pay him is unwise and undermines trust within the community. If you pay a good amount you don't need to send anything View attachment 88571

if people are willing to cheat the system by having more characters online why not. I mean its possible to play tibia on 2 screens on duo party for example or skilling etc so it shouldnt be issue how many mc is there as long as they are somewhat automated by someone.you missing my point
nisyrk decided to leave otserverlist not to protect his players but to protect his server he probably got data how many unique ips playing his server and it would look really bad it probably would drop from 1300 to something like 300 OR even less i was able to run 11 multi clients once on same ip with no problem fishing on bot fully afk one character got banned gm didnt even check my other characters logged in
this change is a good step but too late and probably wont do anything as xinn will give up again after some time with doing anything to otserver list or hunting spoofers (just like his employee) prolly u wont be able to sort online list (or default sorting wont be based on unique ip) he might even revert changes

Anyone that viewed the live data prior to us leaving OTServlist would have noticed our unique count even with 1300+ online was over 900. Our gamemasters are actively enforcing multi-client restrictions daily. We allow players 2 clients open, but the majority do not even utilize the feature since supplies are plentiful. Also we could approach the topic of how there multiple better ways of verifying legitimate online counts.you missing my point

That was way to a succes, looking past bet ya got no regrets.I honestly wouldn't care about all of this if that wasn't the case. I am that kind of person who prefers to avoid wasting time because I have enough stuff on my own and I couldn't care less about some random otservlist from the past.
However, back then (in 2016) after the initial request from Xinn to share IPs and everything related to our player base I decided to calmly refuse and on my own I did delete both of our worlds from the list itself. He answered that he fully understands and that he wishes us the best. It was obviously all fine at that point in time. Nothing to complain about. After all, I made a personal choice to leave and not share IPs and other sensitive data of our players (they are our valuable customers after all) by deleting our servers from the list on my own.
After some time, if I recall correctly it was a year difference (I did decide to leave the list in December 2016, the post appeared in December of 2017), Xinn himself posted a message in my Medivia thread defaming our game by saying that we left otservlist because of spoofs and rune maker farms. Of course that wasn't the case, as I previously mentioned, we left willingly on our own. I guess it took him a year to address this because he couldn't stand the fact that his list meant nothing to us, we left as it was never there in the first place.
Now it's almost 2025 and you are still facing issues with this list and asking for advice. The requests to share more and more sensitive data of players are getting out of hand. You are spitting in the faces of your customers by sharing their sensitive data. Not only that, but you gain nothing out of it. For your own sake, don't waste money or time on that list. https://medivia.online is online since 2011 without a single reset (Legacy world). That's almost 14 years of non interrupted online time with characters and items still in existence from 2011. Think about this for a while, let it sink it. Do you really need some random list or is otland enough to advertise your server?
