I think OTX is the most stable (maintained) version of 7.6/7.72 protocol these days.

Last official release is 2016, so I would grab the master branch (last updated july 2019) for otxserv3

I just found these two great maps from my old computer and decided to upload them here if someone needs them. Miss the 7.6 days with these maps.. :( Armoni Illusion Someone should make server out of these ;)
