Yes and no. Linux doesn't use a lot of resources, allowing the engine to take full advantage of the CPU and RAM that it needs. However, nowadays, you can get a host machine with plenty of CPU and RAM to run an engine on Windows and it be just as good as running it on Linux.

I remember those days when running on Linux was more stable besides Windows... So running on Windows should be equivalent to be running on Linux in terms of stability, right?
