Yeah, Red is actually an amazing band.
Well, Red was the one I liked the most when I used to hear rock, but some other bands I can recommend you are:
-Avenged Sevenfold
-Chevelle (Listen to "The Fad", such an amazing song)
-Pantera
-Limp Bizkit
-Godsmack
-Yellowcard (Not that heavy, but has good songs)
-SOAD
-Soil ("Pride" is great)
-Disciple
-Disturbed
