I do not use PayPal anymore ( PayPal (is a) scam – removing my PayPal account – HALP! (http://halp.skalski.pro/2019/05/05/paypal-is-a-scam-removing-my-paypal-account/) ).
I cannot pay for OTLand premium account and I also cannot accept little payments (5-50 euro) for my help from people.

I decided to tell everyone to transfer money to [email protected] with description 'Gesior.pl(support)'.

I think it's good idea to get extra money for forum.
If more programmers post this in their answers, we can together collect some extra money for GitHub Bounties and 'hire' some programmers to upgrade theforgottenserver code.

What do you think about this idea?

@Don Daniello
Is it you who manage money from donations? Are they all accepted automatically, so money people paid 'me' is already accepted?

No, it's @Mark. They probably get accepted there but I can't look into this.

How is this is a scam? Something free becomes not free anymore because of the work it causes? It's a logical step and I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. As I said before, people have the opinion "I want everything for free in the Internet but I wanna earn money with it"
Plus you were abusing PayPal as a free service for business transactions @Gesior.pl without paying anything (from what I understand here), so actually you are the scammer.
And now you cancel your PayPal account but wanna still use it? Using someone elses PayPal account? Kidding me?
I'm sorry but that's the definition of a hypocrite.

Don't understand me wrong, I'm not happy about the new fees, but your double moral is not ok.
I understand any private person who quits PayPal ENTIRELY for this, but you used it for business and you don't quit it entirely.

I think you don't understand, he probably want to use otland account to donate otland, not to gain profits for himself.

I saw both intentions to be honest. Just didn't go into the one of him wanting to donate using it, which would be wrong as well anyways, just didn't care about that :p
But even in the case that he didn't wanna use it at all for his profits, only that argument was obsolete.
He would still be the one who scammed and still would want PayPal to be used for donations for OTLand.
In that case it would be like a vegetarian wanting someone else to eat more meat because he couldn't eat any anymore.

Regarding the upgrade of theforgottenserver code, I'd suggest giving that job to @kondra. He seems to have enough programming experience as well as huge knowledge of theforgottenserver.

I don't think only 1 programmer should be coding or planing anything about TFS. It should be run by committee. Funding is always good tho.

Hello, first and secondly, I agree with Gęsior, first of all, PayPal payments are pure surveillance of who - who - for what - where- and who has enriched, so therefore authorization is required through your personal data that your bank gives transfer of 1zl authorization here I am talking only about the payment from PayPal - but the same is true for payments for premium in this forum, which was also returned to me because there was a problem, I do not remember exactly now but it was related to the authorization. As for the second point Gesior about the underestimation of some local programmers - idealists - non profit user (otherwise I do not know what to call it because their knowledge and actions is the main driving force of this forum and the earnings are ridiculous because of the vagueness of the donation system because it is too complicated, and nowadays if you want to give someone 1 euro for the fact that his post has helped you a lot, if there is no $ (tip) button and payment in 15 seconds, as with most vending machines, then people are not strangers because they are stingy, they just don't want to discuss where they have an account and whether it can be transferred there any authorization codes and other shit. To the point, improve the payment system and expand its activity and availability, and a lot of capital will be found for new projects as long as someone who manages them will appreciate the main people in this forum.

best regards

P.S. in programming, I am very weak, but I know people and their total comfort and social decay.

I always get paypal money as payment (not donation) and paid ~2% for each transaction. With Kasteria team I spent a looot of money on transfering it by PayPal. I understand that processing and securing transfers cost and I'm ready to pay up to 3% (depends how high quality they offer).

There is one big difference.
THEY said that payment for transaction is 0.30$ + X%:
  • 0.30$ is for processing money [lets say it clear, they change 2 records in some MySQL, that's all!]
  • X% is for insurance - from scammers [fake shop sites], hackers etc.

Now they want to get 'insurance cost' for transactions that are not realised - there is no way to scam/steal money, if donated person Refund it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I don't get money from [email protected] and I don't want to get that money. I want to get some new programmers into TFS or at least pay for otland.net servers.

They already make more than enough to maintain the server costs. What we really need is more incentive to even buy premium, the benefits are basically nothing now since premium board is dead and you don't get exclusive content. The main benefit of premium is just name changes and custom titles.
But I see nothing wrong with having users donate to the forum and having a bit more money run through here if he's unable to accept payments, better to have the money go somewhere than to just not accept it.

Which is why it's called a donation. You don't expect something back from a donation. It's at the donee's discretion to give you something back as a thanks.
