the .dat file he uses isn't correct. If he updates his RME client.xml to look for the right .dat file or what not it should work. It happened after CipSoft updated their minimap colours in one of the updates.
 
use the latest .dat file I guess, gotta get the file signature i think. I don't know much about that stuff
 
Nah Pero, for some reason, even when you use the proper .dat signature and everything, it still doesn't work. However, ingame, custom colors that were set in .dat will work just fine on the minimap.

I recommend just fixing these black areas with bucket tool in paint when posting a screenshot like this, that's the quickest fix.

I was just too lazy to fix it with paint, I usually do but meh...
