Server information:
Client:7.4
Type: War server
Characters: Sorcerer, Knight, Paladin & Knight. (If people enjoy it enough we'll implent either war characters from Aurea war or custom accounts.)

Map: Darashia

Uptime: Not 24/7 but usually around 8 hours~

7.4 features; uh trap, parcel trapps, heal friend through walls etc

Hope to see you all there,
Fribben.

finally private accounts, hope the server gets enough people now, darashia is a perfect map for wars

Some critiques:
I think your choice in map is a lot better than using the realwar edron map (there's some map bugs though around the coastline with incorrect tiles etc but it's nothing important). However a few things you need to fix:

Paladins start with magic level 14, you obviously need 15 to even SD (if they start with 15 and die once they'd have to re-level magic unless you have magic level loss turned off).

You can't seem to buy great fireballs in the shops with any sort of command (gfb, g fireball, great fire ball, great fireball etc -- maybe I missed one?) and sorcerers are unable to create them with blank runes. Was that intentional?

Can't seem to buy any food and only druids / paladins can use exevo pan, would be better if brown mushrooms were purchasable.

You can't seem to buy pots or parcels either.

You've also left paralyze on -0.8 which is far too underwhelming compared to how the spell should be. I think you have the mana right though (900?) but the underpowered paralyse is pretty much a class breaker.

Do you know when burst arrows stopped exhausting players? Until that point people didn't use them. Was it 7.4 or 7.41... I can't seem to find it on Tibia wiki and my memory is pretty rusty, It was about half a year after Aureas beginning IIRC?

Server seems stable though. Just thought I'd help you out... :)

Edit: @ down, pretty sure I tried and he just tried to sell me a fireball rune but I could be wrong. It's a quick fix anyway. Night.

Ill look into everything tomorrow, now I have to close it down. Thank you all for the comments and I hope you enjoy while the server is online.

Good night.

PS: you can buy gfbs by saying great fire ball.. I'll fix great fireball together later, I know it's a bug but.. I'll look into it tomorrow.

You should make the minimum level 50 so we can't be downgraded from the level we are brought on ourselves. Other than that, I enjoyed last nights battle alot.

I fixed level 50 minimum already. It will be implenten later on.

@Evulclown. I fixed food at shops, you'll be able to buy great fireball runes the way they are spelled. And I don't know why you had this problem, but it's possible to create gfbs by saying adori gran flam.

Mlvl 15 for pallies will be fixed.

Exhaust for burst arrows, please explain..

Paralyze, will be taken care of in a further process, not right now though.

You shouldn't be able to buy pots nor parcels, because there will always be noobs trying to spam the depot full of them. And it could lead to problems. I might put pots and parcels around the map instead so people could pick them up from time to time.

Other than that, you guys have to give me a better suggestion for me to add it.

EDIT: I'll take a look at level loss & red skull aswell. When I get home.

EDITX2: I read my pms and I saw that pallies had power bolts, I'll delete all power bolts and make them non conjureable.

Fix red skull, mute, npc keywords and make it possible to refill when you have pz lock. Fix death penalty/exp gain, I prefer both low so you gain exp slowly and loose around 1/4 level upon death.

I can help you fix the entire dara map if you want.

Red skull is being taken care of, same as the exp. I like the idea what you proposed about low gain and low drop. What's wrong with npc keywords? And you can refill during pz, where "rashid" usually is on 8.5, I put Xodet.

What's wrong with the darashia map btw?

I never played new tibia, where is Rashid?

Maybe Im wrong but it looked like the map was cut off at desert.

I cut it by purpose ( the north one ), it's huge enough to war on anyway, including the west desert path aswell.

You can search in wiki where rashid is located on 8.5.

Some more things to help you (Essay!):
  • Magic level: Perhaps magic level 15 with 50% already gained towards magic level 16 is better that way people can die 5 - 10+ times after they log in before needing to "level" their magic (no one wants to have to do that in order to fight on a war server. Or run out of the PZ to find they can't SD but are locked). Pallys use less mana anyway in terms of regaining, people don't like choosing new names and at these levels with teams and all the sorcs, I'm sure people will die more at the start. Maybe if you've sorted it so you can't go below level 50 but can still gain levels, you can do the same with the magic levels?

  • Map: About the Darashia map being cut off, it's not important at all, but visually if you get the chance neatening the coastline tiles will make it look more professional. As it stands you might want to think about editing the layout a little, adding a bit more dimension. The various house blocks are just used to run around because entering them is basically trapping yourself for no reason. A personalized underground and over ground linking / opening up of the buildings could allow for unique gameplay. I'd offer to help but frankly I don't think I'd feel comfortable doing work with you after what happened so perhaps I'll just stick to critiques. But the image in my mind could be quite decent to play on PvP wise, you need to work on it a lot to get it looking good though. A halfassed edit will put people off I think.

  • Parcels: Pots / parcels / plantpots dotted about the map would be a good idea, perhaps with a 1 - 3 hour respawn? They're a big part of PvP. You're right if they're purchasable it will be abused in order to trap the depot etc.

  • M-rings / UEs: There's an issue at the moment of mage teams taking the easy option to kill people by just doing constant UE combos. They run at you bursting and re-manaing separate a little so they don't hit each other then BOOM. You can see it comming a mile off but can do little to stop the obvious impending doom especially on an open map, if they fail they can run away to re-mana. Old style manas help reduce this a little but not much. Might rings could augment E-rings / magic walls and buy you a little time. A good UE combo should come as a shock and be rewarded with a kill because of that. Not a flat out kill every time even though you're being blatantly obvious about your intentions, that simply wouldn't happen in actual Tibia unless you're fighting someone stupid / unprepared. It'll only discourage people from playing other vocations and doing anything PvP wise other than UEs.

I was thinking of a way to implement might rings in order to add another dimension to allow for some protection when in a trap or against the spell comboing mage teams. However you don't want people with an endless supply. Perhaps buyable with frags? or 5 - 10 per day purchasable per account for frags. But in all honesty these suggestions can be abused by making multiple accounts / MC killing each other (do you have logins blocked from the same IP? easy way to stop MCers but limits people on LANs).

You could have a re-usable quest box in the depot that's re-accessible every 5 levels gained which gives you a bag of might rings? Perhaps not the best idea though, people will hit the "level barrier" when you have the multiplier set very low for a level stage. So people will continue PvPing and stand no chance of earning any more rings.

Maybe frags arn't a good currency either as it only rewards people with the last hit (who might have done nothing more than run up at the end of a fight and got lucky). Maybe if every dead body has 1k GP inside or a token? Then people have to loot and make the might rings cost 5k each? ...But again abuse from MC's or waste chars dieing for cash. Perhaps only people level 55+ drop the cash / tokens?

Perhaps 5 might rings can be purchased per day @5 frags / 5k per ring from an NPC blocked off by a level door accessible to characters who are level 55 - 60+? That way people wouldn't be able to abuse them and would only use them in vital situations adding a new element to PvP that's missing here compared to actual tibia.

M rings are also easy to counter with fire bombs etc so it won't make someone overpowered to have limited access to a few per day. But will allow people to protect themselves a little better from impending combos or large team damage beyond an e-ring.

Unless you have some other ideas?

  • Burst exhaust: What I was on about with burst arrows is, they used to act like an automatic firing rune. They were dependant on magic level and every time it fired they used to exhaust you. (it was quite dangerous and retarded, they obviously weren't used for PvP) I'm not sure if this was changed at 7.41 to make them not exhaust or 7.4... But old school mages just used their runes and their spells with a cheap light melee weapon and a shield. Because there was no constant burst damage most mages did not use mana shield either but healed like normal. It stopped "lazy" mage play with people using mana shield and using bursts to shoot for them before UEing or UE comboing other people. (IMO this was a golden age in terms of mage PvP, but I can't find the correct change date). It also meant people used more actual skill on mages to kill people. Essentially it separated the classes more because it didn't allow mages to act like mini paladins.

  • Druids: About paralyze, it's a test server so I guess you'll be hard cording a more true to Tibia paralyze rune which isn't dispellable "instantly" and is the correct power, such as it was for actual Tibia. As it stands now though Druids have no real use... A simple script edit up to -0.9, -0.9 is an easy / quick stopgap until you sort the hard coding for real.

  • Rashid: Rashid - TibiaWiki - Quests, Items, Spells, and more <-- Can't seem to find a map, he's just called a travelling salesman. I haven't played real Tibia for years either and have no idea where he is

  • GFB: (About GFB's I looked up the spell online and it seems they changed the wording for new Tibia or something to adori mas flam, so my mistake)

I don't think I'll be playing the server for obvious reasons, but I want to encourage a larger selection of stable "decent" old school war servers for the community. So good luck sorting it all out, despite our conversations earlier. You have a little breathing space before RealWar is out and they'll initially be a guildwar server before moving into the accountwar market. Because Warloria is also going down you have a great opportunity to get easy customers in what is a really dwindling market these days. You need to start building a more solid unique selling point until then if you still intend to buy hosting for the server. Using the Dara map is a step in the right direction though!

I doubt I'll do any custom parts for darashia. About the pots and might rings, I'll consider a way to make them implentend without any bugs. I could probably add a "no-reward if same IP" or sometihng similar, though it could be abused if two friends are doing this. But once again, we could do the reward for 55+ and if they want to loose levels for a couple of might rings, do so. Your lost.

Magic level, I might be able to fix the magic level minimum according to the vocation the player is. But still, this is considered. I'll probably raise it to 16 instead of all the trouble being, since it's not hard at all to gain magic levels.

Paralyze; already said I'll fix it so yeah

Burst arrows; kinda retarded as you said yourself, but I doubt that will be implented even if we say so that the 7.4 client did have this.

Rashid; it's at the market southwest of temple, the last house I think you can see before leaving Darashia, if you for instance is going to walk to Ankrahmun..

Also, if people do not like the server and I see that realwar will take over the business, I may just close the server. Why hold a server with no people enjoying it. But once again, I'm not here to compete. I'm here to test my server's stability and hopefully people will enjoy it as it's progressing.

@Rewards to buy might rings (and ssa?). You could make every frag count for 1 credit.

Frags made on characters using the same IP would give 0 credits
(ex. Character with IP 1.1.1.1 frag another character from IP 1.1.1.1 get 0 credits).

Frags made on characters from the same IP within a period of 1-3 minutes would also give 0 credits (ex. character with IP 1.1.1.1 frag another character from IP 2.2.2.2 twice within 2 minutes but only get 1 credit.)

One might ring could be 5 credits and maybe stone skin for 20 credits or something.

Ps. When you fix important updates like exp, please reset characters back to lvl 50.

Burst arrows; kinda retarded as you said yourself, but I doubt that will be implented even if we say so that the 7.4 client did have this.

My point though was, burst arrows screwed up "true" mage PvP. They took away a unique point for Paladins and encouraged mages to rely on their "auto hitting" damage removing a large element of skill that it took to play sorcerers and druids. As a pose to making them exhaust as they used to, simply remove them.

Bursts also discourage mages from running without mana shield on. So for true oldschool PvP burst arrows shouldn't really be there. But it's your call, people are certainly "used" to them now. But in the truly skillbased golden age of mage PvP we ran around with spiked swords / skull staffs / dragon hammers relying on our aim to damage people! Might have already changed for 7.4 though...

It's down to your personal preference on how authentic / skill based you want it to be though. :)

@Rewards to buy might rings

SSA / elven ammys being available in a very limited supply to trade for kills as well as M-rings is a very good idea. But I think if this is the case, then AOLS need to be totally removed.

Instead the AOL effect should be constant, aka people don't drop their equipment / backpacks despite having no AOL. No one enjoys remaking a backpack. It's not a "risk" of losing things like in Tibia, just simply a boring annoyance. Which is why an unlimited supply of AOLs was there in the first place...

Again though I'm not sure if frags are the best currency, because they only count for the last hit, encouraging people to hang about not actually PvPing waiting to use a spell to "frag steal". Tokens / money dropping from level 55+ players might be better? :p

You need to personalize your site a bit from the default one. Remove the house section etc.

Server online.

Update:

Added 7.4 boat, where you can get crates and boxes from.

You can't be under level 50 anymore.

You can now purchase food from the npc.

You do not loose anything wether you're without aol, or not. You do not loose anything while being red skulled either.

You loose less exp, skills and magic level when you die and I reduced the exp rate of killing players.

Fixed the mute system.

IF you find any bugs, please either pm me if they're critical or post here.

Online. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to update or what bug to fix?
