Besides the very outdated and small tarantula caves in port hope, they give ridiculous experience making it harder to actually do the task, and giving botters a perfect place to bot.

At level 75 I am getting 6200 experience from a tarantula, whilst only getting 3000 experience from a carniphila. When in Global Tibia tarantulas give 120 experience and carniphilas give 150. I think whoever did the coding put in one too many 0's in the default experience for tarantulas.
 
They indeed do give more experience than they should right now (a little more than twice as much). It will be fixed in the next update, thanks for reporting.
