The dusk had settled. The dawn has rose.

After a vicious Orc attack back in 900AD, Zian had fell. The citizens of this noble city had been slaughtered, used for food for the green disgusting creatures. They had been hiding for many years and even rumors had it, they was descendents of the elder Orcs, whom were the Citizens servents..

They.. had their day..

Though, after many, many years. The Orcs suddenly disappeared. Though there were many questions.. For how long? Where to? What were they doing? These are the questions that even today, still remain unanswered.

As time went by, the inhabitants of which was once called Zian rose back and started to build their community even more day, by day. Eventually the city once again rose!

People started to come back to the city after fleeing from the trechorous Orcs and the city even has a ship yard, market and a fully secured depot! They even have new houses build and a sorcery, herbalist, tool and weaponry for the citizens!

But, something still lurks over Zian at night..

Could YOU accomplish the quest and find out?..

Or will Zian turn into an apocolypse of doom.

Well, this server will have plenty of things different, ranging from farming gold to a very different rune making method to Tibia.

Of course. Our server including the map will update every week to 2 weeks, providing how much time the team has.

I dont believe you will update the server LOLZ.

Yes there will be, though they wont be any over-powering. I can assure you.

How will you balance the vocations?

The vocations will have their own uses.
All vocations will have their own unique hunting spots designed.
They will also have their own type of uses, Druids will be herbalism, Sorcerer will be attack power, Paladins will be used for long shots & damage, Knights purely for attack and defense.

Druids don't seem that useful.. What are you planning to do with them?

Well Druids will become very useful during gameplay.
They will be the only vocation able to farm herbs, meaning it will be cheaper for them to create potions themselves. Whereas other vocations will have to depend on income and shops...

How will the economy be in The New Era?

We will try to balance the economy very greatly.
Negotiating will be the main priority, we do not wish to have set prices so perhaps we will change the loot rate of Boss Monsters up and down every week.

Here's my opinion,what you shall do:


RATE = 3x
RAIDS = No
MOUNTS = Yes
VOCATIONS = Gladiator,Scout,Magician,Hellican,Forsaken Archer
HUNTING SPAWNS = Lands,mountains,forests,lost places,and no TPs
IDEAS FOR NPCS = New outfits,new system of selling items/you will open a shop window,click on the item,and see item specifications,attack speed,etc..



Is it gonna be some type of "test server" first or it will be released when it's 100% finished?
 
The story is nice. It's basically the same as mine, but the orcs are my incoming issue.

I was wondering what the island to the top left of the minimap was, is that a Rookgaard?

Yes there will be a BETA, though it will be when it's 100% finished so I can see if there is any bugs that will need fixing, the BETA will last approximatley a week or so.

Yeah, the Orc story is a kind of basic story. Hehe.
It isn't Rookgaard, its merely a spawn, though a small one.

I won't release any information about the actual map, though no, it isn't a Rookgaard and I probably wont implement one either. ^_^

I have a notepad full of ideas and what to do, but I just need some awesome ones, mine kinda suck ^_^
 
Depending on how much effort you are willing to put in, I got a few ideas. It is very doubtful that you will adopt them, but you would probably like the ideas behind them. All of them are doable.

Following your template for ideas:

RATES OF EXP? No EXP from monsters. EXP should only be gain from doing quests, and missions from npcs. Grinding is one of the most boring parts of ANY mmo.


RAIDS? Of course there would be special raids. You could even make out, say, a ghost castle. The castle would be empty normally, but when the raid occurs, it is filled up with monsters, and a boss. The boss would drop a one time use key to open up the door to the treasure room. This would turn the raid from just being monsters, to an actual world quest, and with the right monsters, and good mapping, it could be a very difficult quest.


MOUNTS? Mounts are a new addition to tibia, and of course they should be used now that we can use them. Also, you could script it so that certain mounts move quicker based on what tiles they are walking over. This would be specific to the species they are. Furthermore, ANY monster in the game is actually mountable, so don't limit yourself to only the starting 12. Orcs and other humanoids actually look like they are being piggybacked when mounted, and there are a few others that look decent while mounted as well.


VOCATIONS. You're gonna love this one, or maybe not, hahaha. Every player has an option to make their OWN vocation. What you do is set a template for stats, and the player has to make choices based off of the template. The choices would be as followed:

1. Starting HP, and MP. You set a maximum amount of points a player can choose. Possible example would be you have 400 points to apply to HP and MP. A player could go anywhere from 400-0 MP, or 1-400 HP. A player can't have no health, so he has to have at least 1 HP. He could go a vocation that is completely dependant on having a magic shield up at all times. Furthermore, you could make a character with no mana, that uses only melee, and if they had spells, they'd have to use HP and soul points to cast them.

2. HP and MP gains per level. You'd have to decide how many points a player has to decide how much HP and MP he gains per level. I'd do it as this, a player has 40 points. 2 points per HP and 1 point per mana. That gives a maximum of 20 HP per mana he gains per level, or 40 mana per level, if they max one or the other. Most players won't do this, and will have a mix of both.

3. Magic and skill trys/gains. A player would be allowed to choice to specialize in a skill. A mage-type would choice a focus o magic, and minimum gains in skills, but a knight might want to be a "axe murder" for example, and would specialize only in gaining axe skills, and would gain axe skills really fast, but slow-to nothing in other stats. Or a player can go to balance on all, and gain everything at moderate rate, and not specialise in anything. The choices and options here are yours.

4. Cap gain per level. You can have the player choose to have a max cap gain per level at 50 cap per level, or have additional points to their HP and MP gains per level instead. For each 5 less cap they gain per level, they get an additonal 4 points in HP/MP gains per level.


HUNTING SPAWNS? Since monsters won't be hunted for exp, they would be mostly for getting money off of, and to fight while on missions or quests. Hunting spawns would have to be logical to their location, and again, you would recieve much less botting if players have no exp gain from monsters. Monsters would only be for completing missions, on quests, and getting equipment, resources and money from.


IDEAS FOR NPC'S? This is such a broad question, and if you accept my already posted ideas, you'd have to spend alot of time making mission and quest npcs.

DIFFERENT RACES? If my custom vocation idea is acceptable, you could allow them to pick what "race" they would be as well, if need be. When they pick a certain race, they would have access to certain outfits instead of the normal ones. they would be logical to the race they pick.


I have many more ideas, but I'd like to see how you respond to the ones I posted.


EDIT: Just to give you an ideas on spells if you adopt my vocations idea.

You'd have to set spells for certain magic levels, or skills, and remove all vocational requirements involved.

And I believe that players should be limited on which choices of what spells they could get at certain levels.

All players could have access to things like "exiva, exeta tera, utevo lux, exani hur "up/down" and such basic things that all players need to enjoy the game.

But when they start level 1, they would have only be allowed to learn 5 spells. At level 20 they could learn 2 more, and every 10 levels from there on, you can learn 2 more spells, or you could make it so that at certain levels they get even more additional spells.

Like I said at the beginning of the most, I doubted that you (or anyone) really, would adopt my ideas completely, just for the fact they are massively game changing.

I come from a Dungeons and Dragons type of background, so everything is more or less quest based for me.

About races, if you do go that way, you'd have to give them "race traits" and even skills (ie, special spells that everyone of that race has, but no other race has). I like the idea of them starting in their own towns, but they should be able to travel anywhere, but maybe have to do quests to gain the "trust" of other races npcs?

Oh and about races and mounts, that won't work out too well, because only the normal outfits have a riding sprite, so only humans could ride mounts.
 
Well perhaps other races could do something else rather than mount? ;]

The city is shit, I will admit & will be extremely modified at the end. Though, at the moment its just a basic view.
