Hello,

I just find this quite f*cked up, My account got hacked and stupid me didn't enter a valid email address, but thats not the point.
My point is that the time it takes to get back the account before my characters are wiped is just takes too long, I've been mailing the support, and they haven't helped me with this case yet.

Why the f*ck does it take so long to help one person retrieve his account?
I've even talked to a senior tutor and he replied that this has to be sorted and fixed urgent and tried to contact Mark, but that was what.. 12 hours ago?

Do you guys really want to help people or what? I NEED MY ACCOUNT BACK, and due to the time it has taken my characters probably are wiped clean, my guildhall has been raided aswell. This didn't only punish me and my chars, my friends also lost their stuff in the house due to this.

And what will happend once my account is back? Will the hacker get IP ban? Will my stuff get restored?
If the support would've acted faster, my account probably wouldn't have been wiped clean out of stuff.

I mean, when I used to run a server before at the game DayZ, I was helping as much as I can, even when I didn't have time, I took time to help them.

I just want to say this, help me, get my account back, punish the hacker.

With best regards
Marcus

I do agree that the account security on the website could be better, although the hacking of your account was most likely your own fault.

In my opinion these changes could be done to the account management on the website:
- Require e-mail validation when registering an account (only to protect players from their own stupidity)
- Have a recovery-key that one can generate once so people can write it down and recover their accounts. / Have one or two secret questions with the option to write your own question (because often the questions are too easy)
- Have a possibility to change e-mail address in some way, maybe with a 7 day delay (maybe only by sending a mail to support) in case it gets hacked.
- Allow all symbols in a password (unless the client doesn't accept such characters in the password)
- Show registered e-mail on account page. (Yeah, I am aware of why it is hidden, but a random hacker could just as well ask support for the e-mail if he had access to the account?)
- Block IPs trying to login to lots of accounts and failing.

Anyway, I have never been hacked and I am sure you can stay unhacked forever if you just follow these rules:
1. Never use any tibia bot cracks.
2. Never use the same password on two servers. If you must then change account name and don't have the same character name.
3. NEVER EVER have the same password as your e-mail ANYWHERE where your e-mail can be tied to your account.
4. Don't share your account with anyone.
5. Don't accept files or download files from people that knows you play tibia. (Or anyone you don't know really, but if they know you play tibia they are more likely to want your tibia account)
6. Have a valid e-mail and make sure it doesn't get hacked. Right now you can't change e-mail if you somehow lose access to it, so if that happens you are screwed.

And at last, they will probably look into it, but account hackers usually go unpunished on online games.
