Hello. I mainly did this thread to keep track of all my work and to get some feedback. I do not really care if you people think it sucks, it's my first map and I've only been mapping for one week. So.. enjoy these pictures and tell me what I can improve and what I should change. When I'm finished with the map (about 50% ready as I'm writing this) I will release the map for people to download.

ImageShack Album - 19 images

There is over 10 pictures so I decided to make a album for you guys to visit. Take care!:peace:

you rather make people who want to comment do more work for you xd?
I will give feedback once you add the pictures in your post in full size lol

If you're so lazy that you can't click on a link to see the pictures then I don't want your feedback nor comment. I made a album because posting 18 pictures in this thread would just be crazy! :D

Doesn't that make it look good? Sucks to have edges looking perfectly straight and boring.

practice...
i made this in 48 seconds...

go ahead, take a picture of one, bet it isnt even near as good as mine

Would you tell me why? It is extremely hard to use raw ONLY. It would take six hours with raw ONLY to do 30 minutes of work with terrain and doodad.

For the same reason the map looks so bad/noobish.
RAW is pure practice. and it's the best way to map, unless you want squarey caves/places like the ones you just posted.
3 things.
1-Never post pictures that way, people just won't see them.
2- When you post a picture of the map ALLWAYS use "New View" unless it will look horrible (like it does now)
3- The less auto boarder/doodad pallete you use, the better your maps will look.
No offense, you still got a lot to practice

I agree to a certain point, but if you lay down some time you can make it look good. As I said the map i posted isn't finished yet. I'll use raw more!

It only takes more time at first, once you get use to it you can speed things up to almost the speed of mapping using autoborder. :/
Just needa learn where everything is :P

thats exactly wat you do in RAW, take time to make everything perfect, and as you make the map, more ideas pop up in your mind, compare my river with yours, you can clearly see you have many squares/straight lines/ mine is just curved to different directions then slowly move close together. im not saying 100% raw to be good, but use more raw than doodad.

Dude, RAW is one of the most necessary parts to becoming a good mapper :)
You get faster at it, trust me (:

I'll post an example :)

Autobordered
You get all these squares.

i did my whole life only raw used my whole life pure simones map editor sometimesi agree it takes long time or getting sick to border a lot but you have to put effort in your work! You can't be a good mapper if you don't wanna put effort in it. And at the screenshot with the smith lava thing i think you should delete it and put fire fields with stones like that.
