I have recently stopped developing my latest project: http://otland.net/f43/uk-neverendin...-future-custom-client-exp-156486/#post1506580 as simply, I guess it was either too hard or just far too different. Whatever the reason, I left it just for current players to play, no new players can join it anymore.

For now I am thinking of either:

  • Tibia Dota
- A mix of Dota, League of Legends, Heroes of Newreth and Desert of Exile, all are sort'a aos games, most of those don't need to be deeply explained as they are rather well known. In Tibia it would be rather hard to make (I already have a laning system, creeps attacking each other, jungle creeps attack distance set to different values). Of course not every hero would suit Tibia interface due to no fog and due to having no real minimap, lack of jugging possibilities and no different animations. Map could be somehow manipulated using:
Code:
doPlayerAddMapMark
but it currently is not the case. This is one of the things I would want to start thinking of, there is another one:

  • RPG
- a'la Warcraft server. I already have certain experience regarding games that are far too different to real Tibia. This time I wouldn't go too far, instead, I would rather stick as close to real as it's possible. I would, however, add shitloads of new spells, I already remade loads of spells from Diablo(1, 2, 3), Dota, HoN, Wow (Chain Lightning, Fireball, Powershot, Tornado, Whirlwind, Demoralizing Roar, Faerie Fire and many, many more...) - Googling (or Youtubing) those will give you an idea how different those spells are from what is usually being made. Current spells being made are rather animations only with just sometimes certain effects added, these I made are quite advanced. More about what would this RPG be about. You'd start on Rook and already be introduced to four races, Humans, Orcs, Elves and the Undead. You would complete certain quests for them to find out more about the race, it's power, enemies and land you would be (hopefully) visiting. Each race would be in neverending war with all other races, however, all races would be separated from each other. I wouldn't want to implement own client, I'd rather stick with standard and provide item upgrade possibilities.

What do you think of these? Any point even starting?

Thought about a dota tibia thing as well. It just doesn't work well. Just not worth it.
TFS doesn't support instanced "rooms" to begin with, so it gets messy from day 0.

I don't recommend to try anything totally new. It probably won't attract many players as well. And even though some are interested (like I am!), they'll probably just leave because it doesn't work as great as they're used to, it doesn't even come close.

Altho I'd love a dota like tibia I agree with @TGYoshi
The Warcraft like Tibia seems to be the most worthed, but it will need lots of work and a consistent(howerever it's spelled) team.

For now I have Magnataur, Crystal Maiden, Slayer and Omniknight done. TibiaDota requires a LOT of vocations :D Those heroes don't fit too bad as they are not too gank vulnerable. I made this entire room thing lot different, everyone is in one big place, and can join certain teleports which constantly say how many players are inside and/or if game is currently running. However, I would be rather interested in starting this RPG game, start just from Rookgaard with basic Mainland and witness the activity. It's lot better to start small and update instead of starting big and wasting time :)
