They are already working on it.
The newest sprites of their, are made to be easier to transform to 3D later when they can.
For example look at those new dead trees that's 2 floors high, those are almost already done in 3D.. just load in a 3D converter and poff done.

CipSoft have said that they are preparing in some interview that was made by some fansite some year ago, no idea which fansite thou, I'd guess tibianews.net, but might be tibia-stats or someone else as well.

Agree, but this is about gaming. 3D here and 3D there.. it's more about graphics than game play today.
most people play WOW only because it's awesome graphics.
Myself I hate wow, the game play suck so hard.
I love Oldschool Tibia because that's an unique type of gameplay, there you need skills in Timing, aim, and movements.
Today Tibia is just a game there you spamm as much you can pressing certain keys.
And the swapp is just awful, I can't believe that Cipsoft still allows it since like 80% of all new Tibia PK movies clearly show how to abuse swapp to get a player multi trapped and then kill him.
(One team swapped a player over 20 sqm from one point, into a corner there they left 1 sqm free, so he couldn't swapp back)

Showing EQ isn't an valid thing in Tibia, because Tibia have the drop EQ chances.. for that it would be chaos, people would kill rich players to get easy money.
And if the they would remove the EQ drop, they would threat players instead, as you will lose Exp/skills if you die, and most people don't want that.

So if you ever will be able to see EQ in Tibia, there will only be lvls 150+ botters left in the worlds.
And a few nuubs camping depot.
