Tibia wont login when config points at global IP but works locally.

I finally have a working local version of OT with every config pointing at 127.0.0.1 or localhost.
I followed the full tutorial in which I use Znote to create accounts and log in etc.

This is all well and good for me, but I am now trying to convert my local version to be ran through my router so a number of friends can log in and begin testing with me.

I have found my global IP address and forwarded ports 7171, 7172, 3306 and 80 on my router.
I have altered the config.lua file's "connection config" IP to be my global IP but when trying to log in the client just hangs on "Your character list is loading please wait".

What am i doing wrong here?

This is usually a problem because you did not forward the ports correctly, also tell use what server version you are using.

Dont forward 3306, its not necessary and unsafe.

Thanks for the reply, I followed a guide from http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/WPN824v2/Tibia.htm don't know if you want to take a look at that see if they have suggested something thats potentially causing the problem. I am using TFS 0.2.14, Tibia client 9.60
