There was always problem with ddosers, if you want to avoid it buy proper dedicated server for example "Hosteam".

Use kimsufi, you can get a server with atleast 16 gb ram <- more than enough for only ~25 Euro
It has a 100 mbps connection and is "ddos protected", located in France.

Their DDOS Protection is not so good so if you want to maximize the protection, configure your own iptables and you will not worry about ddoser's at all.

Or just get a server from dondaniello, easiest option.
