If you can i have this question: I sometimes see people updating theyre client of the OT and id like to update my 8.0 server to a different, higher version client like 8.5 if u can help thatd b awesome

Depending on the actual server, TFS, etc then the codes will slightly vary. How much coding & scripts as well as effort, have you put into the 8.0?

Otherwise just download an 8.5 server and get the basics again. For an update from 8.0, i'm guessing the majority of codes will be out-of-date in comparasion to 8.5 as that is usually 0.3~ for tfs etc. So If you don't mind rescripting codes, etc then just download an 8.5 server and away you go

Would be harder than just what Mitch said, It's XML, and XML is no longer supported, so changing the server would not do much.
I would just recommend downloading 8.54, and redoing the scripts, otherwise, you'll run into a lot of problems.

@up yh didn't realise it was xml :/ thats gonna be too hard, database etc, yh sorry just start again with a new server for 8.54

You don't need to start over. Most of the scripts should work, you only need a new database.

ill just stick with the 8.0 i put alot of scripting work into that and mapping
