So, I was just wondering what people thought about updating Remeres map editor? Why doesn't someone who's good with C++ just update it for him? It's Open-Source so I mean you can't get in trouble for it. And if someone does that then we can use it to map for 8.7+ until Forgottenmapeditor is done.

8.7+ mapeditor works fine for me, even 9.1.

Where is 8.7 mapeditor? I can't find it using search or anything. I've only found ways you can mod RME 8.6 to 8.7 and such.

Did he mention about any 8.7x remere's map editor around? No.

Here you go, 8.7:

You can use the same method to get 9.1.
This tutorial is made by Remere because he said he doesn't need to update anymore since you can do it yourself with this tutorial.

That's why its never been updated.

you can update your items.otb and xml, but you will see new objects instead of looktypes cuz new tibia.dat won't work

Even though they found a way to use rme with 8.7+ I still think someone should update his source, so that you can use all the client types. Without changing them all the time.

How are you supposed to load 9.1 Tibia.dat if the file structure was changed in 8.72?

Don't ask me, I've been able to map my own 9.1 map and actually have it up and running in 9.1.
Sure, the 9.1 sprites are not included, but its the map version that is all what matters.

Trust me or not, I've got it working.

Then you are just mapping in 8.6 but the map works on 8.91 but what we are talking about here is the new graphics, and you cant map with them.

I would much rather summon and search for the new IDs in-game and write them down to place them on the map,
you can certainly map with 9.1 stuff this way, it may be difficult and time consuming, but it sure hell beats waiting for a 9.1 complete and working version of a mapeditor.

For example, if you want to use a new 9.1 item in the mapeditor, you'd have to find it in the game.
So, if I wanted to place elemental spikes in the map, I'd have to search for it by using the create item command (/i) and search for it, in this case, I found it and the ID is 13940.
Then I go to Raw -> Others, scroll down to the black squares and look for a square with the ID 13940 (can use search function too) and tada, place it anywhere on the map.

Trust me, I know what I'm doing, 9.1 works, even with the new objects, it just takes some time, but once you get used to it, it will be a piece of cake.
Hope this will help other people until Fallen finishes his map editor.

Yeah it worked for me too, but you still can't use new tibia.dat
so you can't see your progress till you save map and run server.

Well, one thing i can say: 7.1 blind xml mapping is back!
Btw. walls in items.xml must be eg.
name="stone wall" editorsuffix="vertical" and we may map, but our artworks will suck
