Yeah, you can play with mehah's no problem. No custom sprites or crazy things. Just tibia oldschool with all the new content.
I tried it now, but my knowledge about otserv knowledge is obsolete and I have no idea how to install the sprites for tibia 15 at otclient. It seems that they are not storing everything at tibia.spr and tibia.dat as they used to be. =x

I have the mehah client ready to play at the downloads section, you can also play in your phone.

Well, I am kind of paranoid regarding executable files downloaded from internet. But I will try to follow the tip someone gave me in another thread.
I am also interesting at trying your "rookgaard tales". Will I need to download a custom file or are you using everything from Cipsoft (sprites, protocol and etc)?

The rookgaard tales client has custom spr/dat. The tibia tales you can use any regular 15.11 client. This month I will reach 6 years online since rookgaard tales started. I have prestige among the community and my real name and data is always available for everyone to check.

There is no unsafe content in my servers. You can analize with any antivirus, just keep on mind that modding the original cipsoft cient will flag always 1 false positive due the agresive method to switch IP.

Is there anything other than that? Because it would be easy to replace those files at the 910 directory of OTC. Also, I believe that OTC works better at older protocols.

My OTC refused to recognize the files. I am not sure, but it seems that the branch which supports protocol 15 hasn't been merged with the main one (which seems an indication that it is not very mature yet).

I was never very active here on OtLand, but I was on OTFans. I even got full access to their OpenTibia server repositories and contributed to them a little bit. Maybe you remember me, I certainly remember you. I like your style, a serious OT developer whose servers still have that old community feeling. Your servers aren't mere boring copies of Tibia, and neither are you money-driven. So, in your particular case, the issue isn't exactly about trust. There are other factors, as well, like the fact that I am a Linux user. But the main concern is that, while running CipSoft's client, BattlEye might detect a modified version of their client and consider it a bot. Although I don't play Tibia anymore, I wouldn't want to lose my characters. Also, I would like to invite my best friend to join me on the server, but she still plays CipSoft's Tibia (and she has a reasonably high-level character there).

Cheers,

Assassina Mutante.

Yes, I remember you! It's been a long time. Why did OTFans close? I liked that site.

Well I've been playing all this time my servers and real tibia as well and never got a problem, just don't open anything related to ot/bot while you are with real tibia and battle eye active. Rookgaard Tales has been six years online now, I have 1 year debuging Tibia Tales for the community (crystal server). I don't like cheating anyway, I play for mere fun so I hate when something plays by itself. I don't really understand why people like servers like rubinot or aurera global where everything is just about grind with bot and get a few dollars.

Thank you for your nice comments, and yeah, isn't money what motivates me, It just passion for the game, I'm a true rpg player and I love creating content for my servers.

If you come to play with your friend let me know, I can call everyone and we go together quests so it doesn't feel like you are playing alone in the server!

PD: About the SPR/DAT I have an OTC available for Tibia Tales in the download section, try to copy that config! - It's 15.11

What about rookgaard tales? Have you edited the default protocol at the client? Some days ago, I tried to login on it with OTC and I couldn't. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with DAT/SPR only. If it was, it would be bugged (or crash) in the game, after logging in.

Cheers,

Assassina Mutante.

In fact, our default client is OTCV8. Are you trying to run your custom client? cough*bot*cough
Please, use our default client to play.

Friend, go play something else, OTServers are not for you. You want the server to adapt to your personal needs, that's crazy... if this one isn't the way you want it, find another one and move on with your life...

Isn't that she probably used an old otc to play with outdated content, I've upgraded graphics several times, you know to add the new item ids and looktypes.

OTCV8?! A closed source fork of OTC client... 😞
Which means I've got to trust not only you, but also the developers of OTCV8... 😞

I don't see a point at using a bot. I am not a power gamer. In Cipsoft's Tibia, I was the kind of player who spent more time trying to solve the Sword of Fury Quest or the Serpentine Tower Quest, than actually hunting. At some point, I realized that these were not real quests and then started having fun solving quests like Desert Quest and Paradox Tower without any spoiler, trying to understand every single step. Do I look like the type of a player who would use a bot? lol

To be honest, I wonder if you are right. A long time ago, I used to be very active at this community (even though not at OTLand, my main forum was OTFans) and I liked it a lot. Now I am trying to get back so many years later and I am not feeling connected to the spirit of this place anymore. First of all, instead of a funny hobby, most projects are about to get money. And it seems that even if you are trying to build a project with motivations other than get some money, you are stuck with the usage of closed source applications because nowadays just a few develop open sourced tools for the community. So, instead of an open sourced OTC with many available good modules developed by the community, we are stuck with a closed sourced OTCV8 to get basic stuff working.

Actually, I compiled the latest trunk version of OTC (Mehah's version). But it doesn't seem to support tibia 15 protocol yet, although there is a branch in their repositories whose name suggests experimental support (but I didn't try it out). That is why I asked about rookgaard tales, as it seems to use an older version.

Cheers,

You've come back at a time when the community is watered down.
You are right, thinking most servers are now cash-grabs.
You are right in not trusting software you download from these people; however, a bit overkill, but nobody is to be trusted.
The ones that were trusted have all been tired out of all the drama happening, or not listening to their ideas and feedback.

We produce the lowest of the lowest of people as well, we have people reselling leaked modules, or leaking entire projects because they are hangry, people trying to test the waters all the time.. and nobody really comes here to learn anymore, and for the ones that do, it gets overcumbered with bullshit threads and posts that aren't getting moderated as fast, thus your support/question/whatever gets overseen.

The days of hunting mysteries are gone, there is little to no RPG left in OTs, all you get is a copy of a copy of a copy of another RL map. 😭
There are some OTs, maybe 2 or 3, that still have potential, but it has always remained at that "potentially good."

A long time ago, everyone was eager to learn and to create, with no goal of money in sight, no more.

Tibia Tales uses OTC Redemption which is open source (Mehah) and it does support 15.11 it's right at our download section, or just merge the pull request and compile it by yourself

Rookgaard Tales uses OTV8

I am well-kown by the community I am not scammer or going to put virus into your phone/computer. Project has been runing for 6 years, everything is profesional. I am also helping to debug crystal/canary servers for the community, so if you play with us and report bugs you also are helping everyone to have better servers.

Check the progress here:

Rookgaard Tales is bug-free.

Tibia Tales (Now permits donations) & Rookgaard Tales are not about money, they are for fun and RPG. You can earn Tibia Coins in-game in both servers without spend your money.

Tibia Tales Update:

1.- All equipment and weapons are available at level 250 (I know 7.6 didn't had level requirement, but I can't break the game this much or it will ruin the fun!)
2.- Grand Sanguine weapons now have from 8% to 4% chance to trigger x4 rows of damage in a single turn:

8% for knights and Monks
6% for sorcerers and druids
4% for paladins
