Hello

Over the past months I have seen alot of complaint threads regarding certain moderators that has been closed by the moderator in question. The authors of the threads all felt that they had more to say and that they were not threated in an okay way, which I totally agree with. This often resulted in another new thread, so the discussion could continue but once again it usually gets closed.

I could keep this thread as a complaint too, but I prefer to leave constructive feedback so people will be able to improve insteed, my suggestion is that if a moderator's actions gets questioned, the moderator it regards should not be allowed to close nor delete the thread where the dicussion takes place. Let me take an example, if a police does any kind of bad action, is it he who chose what the consequences will be? This forum contains alot of young people, everyone is not authoritative and proffesional, therefor it can cause alot of corruption. Which currently is the case if you ask me, people does have the right to speak regarding a police's bad action to someone else than the police in question, this should apply here to if you ask me.

If a moderator can't stand seeing a discussion in a thread regarding him/herself, and cannot refrain to close it, than he/she should resign.

I don't see how arguments can be valid when a good majority of the people replying to this topic cannot even type properly in English.

On that note, I believe it's a good idea. There should perhaps be a new system that allows members to select specific reason(s) to give feedback. If they select "Report Staff Member", they should be redirected to a private area where only the member complaining and staff of the forum that outranks the person of which is being complained about can take some time to review it and decide what shall happen. Once the issue has been resolved, it can then be visible to all those interested in viewing or learning about the situation that had previously taken place and perhaps even expire to an archived section of the forum.

I thought I should throw out my idea(s) since everyone else seems to be doing so.

Kind Regards,
J.Dre

Like Fallen said, some of these Moderators have serious error in brain
>mfw they delete thinking this is trolling

Well where should i start? hmmm...
It's really sad that many people are complaining about the mods, it's really sad that you made the moderators as an enemy, and its really sad that your thread got closed or deleted, however this is otland and in otland there is Owners/Mods. The owners of otland chose the mods because they saw that they are the best at it and deserves it and i think that the owners of otland knew that they can handle alot of responsibilities and i think they also knew what forum they are dealing with, do you think its easy to choose moderators? no i don't think so, its really hard to get mods like them. so i really agree with any action they do , because they are being fair and that's the most important thing in the forum. and they are just follwoing orders and rules and confidents with thier action i don't think u can find such people like that, also they are reasonable in thier actions which makes them special as mods. I got alot of thread deleted by the mods cause i didnt follow the rules correctly. and they are being fair with all the forum and got my thread deleted or closed. if they was not fair everyone would be no fair.

It's is absolutly neccessary and warn members and close threads because you are not following the rules. We should be so grateful to them because they are fairly minded , they are somehow diplomatic , its really nice to show for your job everyday and check threads and other comments, and its really good they show up for unwanted comments flames and stuff in order to be fair, they are doing a fine job to me.It doesn’t matter if you are the most popular member on the planet once you cross over the lines/rules of otland Mods of the Forum has to take some actions to do to be fair with all members, also if your post crosses the line or didn't follow the rules and the mods keep it there and do nothing its like there is no fair in otland mods here to take control of things and stable them, if it wasnt for thier hard work 24/7 hrs a day there would be falmmers ,trollers , bad threads, unfair people. they are our friends they only wants what's right for us.yet we never accept their generosity. they gave up thier membership to help otland with all what they can do. why would we blame them? their just doing and following the rules of otlands.
So i want to take this moment, because as far as i can see being a moderator is a thankless job.

i really appreciate what the mods and owners are doing and i hope they keep this up with their fair minded and fair actions, i hope this happens all the times and i hope they do their best to continue thier great helping efforts and their fairness in otland, with all my heart thank you thank you thank you. thanks for taking such good care of us and otland, your the only ones who could achieve fairness in otland plus thank you for doing your job as a mod not as a Gestapo..

Best regards

When the issue isn't about just 1 infraction it becomes serious. Some moderators just have power trips, all you can hope for is to avoid their wrath. You can say you don't know why people would cry, but when 1 more infraction is the difference between a member and being banned, it's a big deal for some.

Behhhhhh
stop crying about unjustified infractions or w/e
if u get banned for unjustified reasons, just remember
karma is a bitch
even on internet.

I think the ability to close/lock threads in the feedback forum should simply be limited to administrators.

I think one of the mainreasons why the administrators has introduced moderator positions is to facilitate the massively work. Therefore moderators / global moderators are authorized to close threads.
That feature should not be removed from global moderators nor board moderators, not even in this section.

I clearly understood your point of the post, as long as your english grade co-operates with your creativity. By reading your post I can see that you suggest that moderators/global moderators/community managers should not have the abillity to close threads in the Feedback board which gives only the TWO administrators that abillity. When considering Kornholijo and Talaturens duties as administrators we clearly see that they obviously would priority something else than checking the feedback board for infraction complaints that is reffering to the global moderators. Of course they're viewing the thread and get in to the cases that gets extreme, but mostly the cases doesn't end out that extreme, and that is because OTLand has professional staff members.

I just don't agree with your proposal. :)

How often is it, exactly that a thread here gets locked though?

Perhaps my suggestion was a bit ranged. I think moderators should not be able to lock 'Complaint' threads since they call for a higher presence than just a moderator.

Closed threads can always be answered by global moderators and administrators and are always visible to all of them. Even if they are deleted, administrators read them.
